They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery....however, I promise all your styles are beautiful and you're looking at this like "omg do I really draw like that?" and the answer is no. Everyone I got the honor of borrowing a style from is an excellent artist and these are just poor attempts because I'm so bad at this omfg. But it sure was fun! So I'm really happy that people let me do this!
Also, the one character I was sure no one would ask for got requested twice. What even.
This was an exercise of giving me a character of mine, and I drew it in the style of the artist who suggested them.
1) Sera in Mahersal 's chibi style. I myself am not a chibi artist but she has some really adorable ones so I had to try it out. I didn't do her style much justice but it was interesting testing it out considering I struggle with chibi. (Yes, I have faced the fact that I will never be a cartoony artist no matter how much I try...) Either way, I till think it came out pretty cute at the least so I've got that going for me.
2) Evie in Miranthia 's style. I loooove the way you draw noses. You're one of the people who said you didn't have a style -- pish posh on you. Also your coloring is amazing. It was then I realized drawing a style I did just fine. Imitating coloring styles however.... wtf. I had to reference your more simple colored pictures. Your coloring is gorgeous though, ugh, so jealous.
3) Liam in lady-blackwings ' style. So I was REALLY GOOD about not cheating and not referencing the picture of Liam you drew for me for my birthday and then in the end I pulled it out for comparison and I was like "fuck". I feel like I was most successful on this one, though. Maybe because you and I have a long history of seeing each others art since theO days. LOL I cannot master your beautiful hair swirls I am forever jealous. //sob
4) Esmee in soulguardion 's style. You have various different styles with rather characteristically common elements in uniqueness to your own hand. I think your cartoony one is my favorite however in order to prevent myself from ruining it I went with the more simplistic realism you use for your references. Which was actually pretty close to my own so hey it came out....relatively okay. LOL How do you draw hair I freaking swear to god it's magic.
5) Esmee in LizzieDoll 's style. HOW DO PEOPLE EVEN INK. HOW DID I EVER INK. Inking is the worse omfg. Not used to it anymore. Lizzie's yours was probably the easiest for me to master in coloring because I totally know who you got your hair shading technique from hardy har har. LOL Butchered your otherwise beautiful inking technique though jesus toledo.
6) Amunet in Neko-Hanyou-Sakura 's style. Cori draws her various fancharacters in the various styles, so since she suggested my YGO character I went with her YGO style. I still have no idea how to ink anymore I must've banished any notion of it at all in my mind. AT LEAST I GOT THE COLORING STYLE DOWN even if mine is such a shaky mess in comparison omg. Major props to you for forever changing through styles.
7) Tamika in hyuga-hime 's style. This looks nothing like your styles. Who's gallery was I even in. What is Earth. Where is air. ....however, chose your more short-handed coloring style because I've always admired the simplicity in it! And then I got slapped in the face with a big "haha you can't even do it". Why is everything wrong with me.
8) Okihi in Scuffle-Truffle 's style. Well, her more realistic style as she proposed! As seen here: fav.me/d87sh70 AND HOLY COW WHAT A CHARACTER FROM THE PAST. And I decided to try out that awesome coloring scheme while I was there! Since I haven't properly revamped Okihi or Amunet I drew them as everyone would recognize them and omfg Okihi looks so gothic and it makes me laugh because I never went through that stage. She isn't that kind of character but it comes out that way unintentionally... Jenny's realistic style was still very crisp and pretty and I'm just like "WELL HERE'S A SHAKY LINE AND AN UNEVEN ONE HERE--" Jut how do you even do it. LOL Thank you for letting me abuse you into this BAHAHAH.
9) Juniper and David in cuddlesaurus21 's style. Cuddles has such an ADORABLE style and....I am such failure. I have no idea where or what I did wrong. i feel like it might have even come down to the mentality, like, I'm not full of warm fuzzies like Cuddles is so my picture didn't come out as warm fuzzies...? Ugh. I flipped them so they would fit in that empty space I had but now their hair parts are going the wrong way. LOL Oh well. I don't know how you are continuously pumping out cute art, some of us were just made to produce ...non-cute art I guess. Hahaha!
Anyway, the more suggestions I get added to the journal, the more I will add and update this!
This was very interesting and if anything, highly entertaining LOL

Though me and my lip issues. Seriously wonder what is up between me and them. XD It probably helps a lot that we have known each other for so long. ^^ Yeah even if I chose Yume you would still have to not peek to see how you did. Great job! But it is fun that you not only the lines done in everyone's style but all the colors are too!! Neat!

LOL when you said lip issues I was like "I don't recall you saying things out of line" but I guess you mean how big and luscious you make them! The coloring for everyone's was difficult, however interesting. Coloring is much more complex than just imitating lines, goodness.

It's so interesting seeing all the styles of these different artists, and you did a fantastic job with them! Really picking out the flaws of my YGO style though LOL. However, I haven't drawn it in ages so maybe it would look a little better nowadays. As much as I like replicating styles, working on my own more so is one of my main goals.

I showed this to my mom and she said "Well at least you'll make a good counterfeit artist if you ever want to work for the mafia." ...mothers. What are we to do with them. You're probably right. Maybe when drawing something we unconsciously compare it to what we imagined it'd look like? And if something doesn't turn out the way we wanted, it's easy to feel bad about it. When looking at someone's else art we see only the final result and thus can really appreciate it? I feel like that might be exactly it. I know I could think the same, were someone to do it for me. I'm not a huge fan of my art but I do know all I see are the mistakes I don't have enough talent to fix, or the coloring I'm not knowledgeable enough to do that it deserves, and all that nonsense.

I actually think it has a lot to do with like, how social stigma in society works, oddly enough. When we start off we're super proud about our work, especially if we're a bit above average and starting young I know even though in comparison to what I do now my stuff was absolute crap back then, but it was still better than one would expect. And then, now, it's all about refining it and becoming better and you are still never good enough because someone can pinpoint those mistakes and after so much practice, everyone thinks you really oughta be better, and therefor you think you should be, too. This might be one of the reasons I didn't bother to major in art and just took an extra minor in it. LOL The whole idea of "you could always do better."

That's a very good point, also one of the reasons I didn't major in anything art-sy either. It also might have to do something with developing a better taste in time? I think we just start comparing ourselves with people way above our current level and so it seems like we're always just not as good...

I thought being a Bio major with a Chem minor was enough. Lmao nope lets add Studio Art minor on in... That's been boosting my GPA though so what have I got to complain about! I think that's also right! And especially now with the media the way it is, we're exposed to so many different talents. And while it's wonderful, it's also the pressure of being one person in the mix of 7 billion.
HAHAHAHA omg we're a little bit hooked on this aren't we. LOL
It's number two on my list so it's the one I'm currently working on, and of course I've been scribbling down punnet squares, possible syndromes (For example, Sera's entire one half of genome is blank so she has 50% of her children possibly coming out with X0 (can't be an Y0) instead of XX/XY. Which means they'd have Turner Syndrome), chromosomal defects, and then magical properties where appropriate. (I MIGHT be the worse person to ever do the lovechild meme....) They're going to take me a bit of time but I'll post the first three and then continually update.
I realized that since Mika's FATHER was the original dog, her parents only had one child because her mother was the female and therefor ovulated only one egg because she's human. But since Tami is the dog in this case, she's likely to have a litter. And then I thought to myself, well I'm only designing one so maybe he's the only one that survived for whatever reason. Which is so sad to begin with which means this kid probably had an overprotective mom most of his young life. (I have so many woman/woman pairings that all of those are only possible to be daughters when working with a pool of ONLY X chromosomes. If I ever get two guys I'm going to have an issue because it's not actually plausible since we don't inherit any mitochondria from our fathers. All of the different sex couples I'm giving sons for this reason LOL)
Since Mika's father died when she was born as pertaining to the legend of Black Dog (there could only be one), Mika is absolutely terrified of being pregnant, because from past experience, she's expecting to die and then her child would be all alone. Throughout all her travels around the world she's experimented a lot more of her sexuality with women rather than men for the sake of not getting pregnant by accident. Which, she doesn't particularly mind because she's an extremely pansexual being anyway so anything goes. And then all that went through my mind was "Omg she and Kevin had a one night stand" and I died. But in all reality they probably get along enough not to just limit it to that. ...hopefully. For this kids sake I hope so. LOL
Mika doesn't actually die when her kids are born because she's only half hellhound and her human part saves her. While she grew up without a father, she had a really good motherly influence, so she's probably a great mom and the son grows up to be a pretty genuine hard working individual, but constantly has the same attitude as his dad "Omg, mom, just chill." He's going to have a ridiculous fro. And all I hear is Mika constantly threatening him if he picks up smoking she'll bury him in the backyard and he's legitimately afraid.
...and you know what, Mika's alternative Supernatural story for the sake of having her in the same story as a friend's with the same canon character pairings, I actually gave her a fallen angel lover for the sheer irony of it. So now you know how appropriate it is that he IS one. (This is turning into a ridiculous AU in my head I'm so sorry I'm kind of kidnapping Kevin for my own thoughts LMFAO)

Good god, do you think their kid would be a Nephilim? Because Kevin is technically an angel still and Mika is part human... and going with Supernatural's "there can only be one!" it'd be a perfect explanation of why the rest of his siblings didn't survive? Of course, this would have to take place after the whole purging the heaven thing or there could be something like "there can only be one*! *one kid per angel"

Okay, oddly enough, drawing him I kept thinking of this stupid, stupid scenario where Mika's pregnant and she and her mother are in the kitchen and while Fred's knitting, Mika's eating egg's benedict and her mother asks: "So what are you thinking of naming them?"
And looking down at her food Mika goes: "...Benedict."
"...okay. And if it's a girl?"
"...Egglentine."
"Let's hope it's a boy, then."
So all throughout drawing him he was Benedict in my mind LMAO

Hey at least you'll have an awesome diploma, right? Here it's rare to have minors in anything, if people want to study something else besides what they chose to major in, they usually have to do the whole studying for some four years and getting another diploma thing

Either way, can't wait to see the kids you come up with for everyone

Though Kevin isn't exactly a fallen angel, in my head there's this complex system on what's what and it goes something like this for him: born as a human, died selfless death and became an angel, eventually started questioning the system and rebelled, got his wings ripped off and cast out of "heaven" which made him a free spirit of sort and put him in the category of Djinns. But you know what, in Supernatural-verse he can totally be a full fallen angel. Grab him. Tell me what you imagine. I haven't been into anything Supernatural for a while, I'd love some headcannons

Diploma will only say bachelor of science, minors basically mean nothing. LOL I think of them as fill in classes. However as far as chemistry was concerned, I only needed one more class to get a minor fulfillment because biology required so many courses of it in the major itself.
Don't worry, we're all feeling that. My dad has been pushing applications my way and asking if I've applied to any biology jobs in the area. And I just don't have time right now to sit down and do any of those. My mom got angry at him and was like "omg let her come HOME first and recover from her treatment". And what's this about marrying? I've only had one boyfriend and that didn't last. I don't want children. Really all I want to do is travel the world and I have way too much to do before I even think about settling down at all for any reason. I think back to when I was in high school and needed to choose a major and I was only 18 when I decided. Sure, I'm only 22 now but four years is leaps and bounds compared to that decision at 18 years old. I just don't see why things have to be so rapid just because our development in growing up is, decisions for adulthood should be made when you're nearing that long expanse of even ground and change does not peak so quickly.
There's too much expected, I think. And so many forget that times are changing ad things like finding jobs and settling down just aren't the same as they used to be.
LMAO oh dear you poo thing. If you EVER need to run by genetics and possibilities by someone, feel free to note me. I absolutely love that nonsense and I try very hard to make pedigrees and punnets understandable for others. Genetics was one of my favorite classes...it was also the hardest core class I needed to take LOL. ...except maybe Zoology. Learning a dead language on your own time should never be a requirement just to pass a class. Turner Syndrome is pretty interesting. Luckily it's not a life endangerment, however it is a sad inconvenience. Really just something went wrong in meiosis and they missed out on the second sex chromosome. However, it is impossible to survive with just a Y chromosome, so Turner Syndrome is strictly female. In restrospect, XXY individuals are pretty interesting. XXYs explain how calico cats can be male. So the myth everyone spits out at me saying "it's calico it can't be a boy" is actually bullshit. While it's not 50% of the cat population it's a pretty good possibility.

I figured that about Kevin too and then I was like ...what if someone did it on purpose. Like, trying to get rid of Mika is pretty hard considering she can crawl her way out of Hell pretty easily and has done so on numerous occasions. If someone were to know of the situation her father died at her birth it'd be pretty effective in blipping out her existence by getting her pregnant. Maybe there was magical brain washing influence. Who knows.
Mika's a wanderer for a really long time but getting pregnant probably means she goes back to England to her mother. Her mom, Winifred, owns a tea shop in Lancashire and if there was anyone at all who knew how to care for hell hound mutts it's her (having been left unexpectedly alone with a half hound daughter and her husband dying as son as the cord was cut). So even if Mika died she'd be leaving her children in good hands. The idea of getting an abortion is probably too risky? She probably doesn't even know how they'll be born and in what form.
But considering she DOES survive, she probably waits and raises him and THEN figures out "Wait, there is something REALLY strange going on here" with his lineage and she realizes she has to go find Kevin again. Luckily, now she has half his genome to use as a scent to track him down. And then popping back up in Kevin's life she's like "Yeah, remember me? I'm not looking for child support but god damn do I have some questions for you." "...how did you even find me." LOL
They probably do do the awkward friend thing raising him the rest of the way lmfao omg. But even thought there's some awkwardness at first all I see is Mika and their son like...running around the house with nerf guns and Kevin somehow getting caught in the middle where they're climbing all over him to use him as a shield. Or the two of them turning into the fluffy dog forms and Kevin's like "...aww" and has to catch and hold the bounding bundles of fluff. It's like a silly best friend family. I don't even know how to describe it. LOL (and furthermore my mind just imagined Mika and Kevin sitting in a cafe watching women pass and commenting back and forth about how attractive they are) And then years later their kid is like "You guys are always together anyway, what's the actual problem here?"
He certainly does inherit all that good stuff from Kevin. In all reality, ONE Mika is enough because she's freaking nuts and hard to handle sometimes. Lmfao since the kid inherits Mika's nose he's not going to like smoking anyhow, that's the biggest issue Mika has with her heightened senses.
OKAY GOOD. Though heck we could take this out of Supe too for all I care. I'm shipping it so hard I haven't been into anything Supernatural either for a bit. This is becoming way too entertaining.

Aw man, life is nuts at the pace we're supposed to take it at. Like what you mentioned about having to choose a major, why are we supposed to decide on that with no effin experience? So many people I know said that if they could go back with the knowledge of themselves they have now, they'd make different choices. In a way it's wasted years, wasted money. But we're supposed to be successful adults with clear goals and intricate net of social ties and a significant other by the time we finish highschool or we won't get anywhere in life 
I am so tempted you have no idea? But I don't have any visual references? Urghh. Well, I suppose I could run one question by you right now, because it's kinda silly but would you say Kami and Kevin looked like siblings, haha? Anyway, genetics sound really interesting... Exactly. My experience literally consisted of a school in a run down area with people getting pregnant at the age of 13 and living off of the state. Because my school had such poor quality of education I wasn't given the opportunities like other schools were, and now I'm talking to people and I'm just like "you got to do what".

True, I'm probably the better choice for a doctor than 80% of them, but my history dictates I simply am not allowed.

Looking at my mom's yearbooks from her graduating class they all had the sophisticate hairstyles, bright smiles, classy jewelry, lovely blouses, the whole nine yards back in 1970. And then looking at my Opa's graduating yearbook....oh man. Ties, suits, neat hair, they all looked so mature. That was 1934. Back then most of them had plans like working on the dairy farm and GAINED those skills while growing up. Opa went to college on his GI bill after the war and got his degree, but even so after being drafted he had more of a plan at that age. I guess it also helped he found the love of his life over in Germany. LOL
Everyone is doing everything so early and I think back to my parents where my mom had my sister at age 36 and me at age 40. I have severely large generation gaps but my mom even told me, she wasn't ready at age 20 or so to start a family. She worked and traveled and then eventually she was ready to settle down when she was older and wiser and an actual adult to raise kids. (This, I realize probably contributed to why I don't get along with most people my age today. I was raised with values set in from the 50s and they were raised with values from the 70s when all of their parents were born.) There was also a much smaller population and jobs were readily available. Now we're struggling to get through something that simply isn't possible.

As far as eyes changing color. The short answer: no. The long answer... technically all of our eyes change colors, because we are all born with blue eyes before we begin processing melanin into our irsises. After that? No. People might claim their eyes change when they wear a certain color, or if the sun is shining outside, or if they're crying. In all reality that's just different forms of reflectance and contrast (If you wear a red shirt, considering it's complimentary to green, your eyes will merely appear more green due to contrast. If you go outside and there's LOTS OF SUNLIGHT, your eyes are going to reflect more light.) Hair changes color in lights too. Inside my hair looks very dark brown, but I go outside in the sunlight and it is extremely, extremely evident I have a red gene because you can see the red highlights. My hair is merely auburn by trade, but I wouldn't say it's brown inside and red outside. I'm sure you've come across the abundance of characters on the internet with magical mood-ring eyes. It's not a thing.
However, like anything, genes can go through mutations and sometimes mutations don't always occur before meiosis. Mutations are a pretty normal thing however they don't happen so extreme or so suddenly that we see them on everyone. It's usually a rather long haul through history (for example, we all started with dark skin near the equator, light skin is actually a series of mutations in form of evolution in order for use to absorb more Vitamin D from the sun.)
Here is an example of a bit of more rapid pace one and I only know of it because it's in my family and I've seen it. My grandmother's eyes were apparently very dark brown through most of her life, and then lightened into a gold-brown-green hazel, which she says "happened after childbirth". Childbirth wasn't the reason, Omi, but she compared it to whatever was happening at the time. My mom said she, too, had very dark eyes and then hers lightened into hazel when she was in college. My sister, (who I gave as an example with having dads eyes, I don't actually think she does but for the sake of that example she did LOL) who we always thought inherited dad's eyes are actually having them lighten up too. Me, on the other hand, they were very sure I was going to have blue eyes because mine didn't darken until I was about five (darkening of irises occurs within the first 6 months). And then mine simply developed into the hazel mymom expressesat this point in time. And now that I've gotten older, mine are lightening too and I'm getting a blue ring around my green and brown. I expressed this to my friends and took pictures and they've been calling them "fanfiction hazel". three years ago they looked like this: db.tt/goUxDMTm and now I recently took this one a couple of months ago: db.tt/1HMpIBr8
So, whatever's happening with that brown/hazel gene is just strange. Things like that happen, but are particularly rare.

Wow, my experience was probably better (only three people had kids by the time of graduation - one pregnant, one with a newborn and one had dropped out), but still. Even when they started doing interesting stuff like strengthened arts (? some schools have more math or music, mine had arts), I was already too old to be a part of that. Things regarding career choices were never a thing here. Universities and colleges do a fair each year, but you go on your own and it's not much help if you have no clue what you want to do in life

Agreed. I have no idea why people insist having kids in their 20s when they're still practically kids themselves. Large age gap between parents and children might be a problem (as well as between siblings), but the core values should be the same no matter the decade, right? I understand the not getting along with people your age part though, a lot of the time I felt like there is nothing in common between me and people in my classes and even one of my professors commented on how I was born in the wrong decade, haha... Either way, I think our generation might be the one where half have kids early and half have kids late (or have none at all). We seem to be on the fence about a lot of things and with so little as a couple years of difference in age people are already with different memories of childhood and such.

I knew some of this and I think the hair changing shades also depends on the chemical side of things - in summer a lot of dark haired people I know get lighter if they spend time outdoors (and for some weird reason I once nearly went blonde in winter and it was very weird when an acquaintance pointed it out to me). I've also heard about people whose eyes actually do change colour depending on the mood, but it's not a complete change, just a slight change in shade... though I've never met anyone like that. And mood ring eyes... Good god, the most ridiculous thing I've ever read was probably "rainbow coloured eyes". How would that even look...

Hazel in itself is brown mixed with green, right? I don't know about the genes but at least the colour looks like it, so maybe that's a reason?
I initially asked because of what happened to me too. When I was born I had dark grey eyes (mom said it was like wet cement) which then turned into a light blue. And it was a clear light blue for years before taking on a more grey-blue shade but it was still blue. And then one summer when I was 15 I think, me and my friend were working in school (painting classrooms, cleaning shelves and such) and she looks at me and goes "your eyes are green". AndΒ then there was a time they changed colours, sometimes the grey-blue, sometime the grey-green, a lot of the time half would be blue and half would be green and now they've settled mostly on a darker grey-green and it's just weird.
Haha, the dumb thing is way more likely to happen but the brainwashing thing is much more interesting indeed... Whomever planned it probably had it out for Mika seeing as it has really no effect on Kevin, unless they counted on Mika getting an abortion and then going to rip Kevin's head off. And them taking out each other in the process... Hmm, either, the plan having failed, I guess it would be logical for whatever it is to try and take them out again?
