For those who have been keeping up with my social media accounts, you probably know how deep I've gotten into the Strictly Come Dancing franchise. It's madness. Now I can't hear any song without thinking about how it could fit a Latin or ballroom dance. And also thanks to the Strictly format, I've been introduced to a lot of cool people I hadn't even heard of before.

One such person is Lauren Steadman, who competed on the 2018 series of Strictly. She's a Paralympic triathlete who was born without half of her right arm, and before the first week of competition, she was away for a championship in Australia, which she thankfully won before making it back to the UK to nail the Waltz, and the dances that came after, with her professional partner AJ Pritchard. Even a whole year later (I drew this sometime after the launch show was taped but before it actually aired; she currently has red hair and AJ is currently dancing with a different celebrity who I, admittedly, am not too big on), I still love her so, so much. She's so strong and so resilient, but at the same time she's got such a bright and cheeky personality, and her partnership with AJ was loads of fun; I always knew they were going to be kindred spirits, because AJ has that same competitive drive and thirst for adrenaline she does, and seeing them together for the first time on the launch show just cemented that (I mean, her throwing herself at him and him just barely managing to catch her should've given the public enough of an idea of what sort of mischief they'd be up to). And on top of that, she's gorgeous. I think her Cha Cha Cha, and later on her Salsa, was what made me realize I'm bisexual.

In a perfect world, these two would've been finalists, for sure; they may have had a rough start, but they evolved continuously and proved why they were able to make it as far as they did. Too bad the British public was more interested in seeing a mediocre Youtuber dye his hair red!
