This is gorgeous, I love your new lens, especially the depth of field is really nice in this one! Make sure to go on shooting trips regularly!
The other thing is the colour scheme here, how brightly the rose shines through the leaves, and the red is pretty complimentary to the green of the background, even sharing roughly the same value. Well done!

This is one of the few photos that when I tossed it up on the screen I stared and went "Woah... *I* took that?" I LOVE this new lens, the L-glass is worth every penny. I'm definitely going to have to try this kind of shot more often, the bokeh on the higher-end lens makes ALL the difference from the old 75-300.

Yeah, you took it and you did a wonderful job here! I can see why you're in love with your new lens, it's definitely a good set with your camera, they work really well and I'm very much looking forwrd to next spring and summer when more pretty objects will be available for you again.
Although, then again, with all the candles and pumpkins and soon Christmas lighting you might try to get some nice shots of those, too
