Description

As I stated previously, I did a bit of refinement for the characters of Starfighter and Guardian Angel since 2018, changing elements of their personality and background. And one of the biggest changes was changing Connor's profession from a writer to an artist.

I know I'm biased in this, but for me being a writer doesn't have the same visual punch that being an artist does. There's more of a physicality to drawing that I feel is more fun and interesting to depict, and more of a sense of it being a physical task rather than the mental one of writing. Being an artist means seeing Connor sit at a table and actually work on a piece of artwork, rather than just type stuff into a box.

Again, like I said, I know I'm biased. I just think its' a cooler profession, but still allows Connor the freedom to pick up and go whenever he needs to.

Now depicting that is a bit of a challenge for a static image. I decided to depict Connor working at his drafting table, surrounded by his work, with his superhero personae looming over him.

As complicated as it was, it was also kind of fun and a rewarding challenge. Plus, it's always good to get practice in having a character do a normal everyday task like sitting or drawing, just to get the practice in.
