    "Now if I was a blob of water looking for shiny gems, where would I be?" Relic wondered to himself while running through the town. "Well it can't be that bad if I have two of them and it has zero." All of a sudden, a manhole flew up into the sky and water was bursting everywhere. "Well it seems like Chaos has decided to show himself again." Relic smirked. Out came Chaos who looked different than before for he now was a little bigger. "Oh no, Chaos already got one of the chaos emeralds!" Relic suddenly realized. All of a sudden, it shot one of its arms out and grabbed Relic. "I got to get out of this grip." Relic thought. All of a sudden, one of the chaos emeralds began floating near Relic, who then began emanating a yellow aura and his quills turned upwards. "You won't get away with this!" Relic yelled while releasing a burst of energy, thus freeing himself. Chaos stumbled backwards but soon regained balance and shot a blast of water at him. Relic quickly dodged and gave a barrage of energy blasts forcing Chaos to retreat. "Oh no you don't you giant blob!" Relic yelled while pursuing Chaos. Chaos quickly melted into a sewage drain and retreated. "Darn it, not again!" Relic said with frustration. His yellow glow faded away and his quills went back down. "How does that monster keep escaping me every time I almost have it? I better report to Tails on what just happened."

                                       ....

      "So he got another emerald, didn't he?" Tails asked. "How did you know, I haven't said anything yet?" Relic responded. "Really, he got another emerald? I was just joking at first but apparently I was correct." "Something's been bothering me for a while and I think you might be the only one able to answer it." Relic said. "Chaos doesn't seem intelligent enough to get all the emeralds by itself, so the question is…" "…Who's controlling it?" Tails finished. "It's a good question, but unfortunately I don't have the answer to it." "Oh, I thought you would have an idea, but thanks anyway." Relic said while running out the door.

                                        ....

        As Relic was running through town again, a burst of fire caught his attention. "What the heck is going? It could be Chaos, but I thought I took care of him for a bit so now what?" Relic wondered. Just as Relic got there, he noticed several creatures floating in the air while shooting lasers out of their eyes. The crazy part is that they look like Chaos before he absorbed the emerald, but with a metal plate on their heads and you can't see the brain. "Man is this my lucky day or what?" Relic said sarcastically to himself. Relic then transformed for he realized the challenge ahead. "Get ready!" Relic yelled as he spun in a ball rapidly while charging energy. "Taste my Light Speed Attack!" Relic then spun around the creatures at such speeds that they couldn't keep track of where he was and destroyed them one by one until they were all gone. "Well that was unexpected, first I fight Chaos who already has an emerald, then I fight these copies who were just as equal, now what will I face?" Relic asked himself while turning back to his normal form. "Things just keep getting weirder and weirder."

                                        ....

        On top of a building overlooking where Relic is a mysterious person. "The experiments were successful, now to continue production and to find the emeralds. I also better keep in mind that Relic's going to be playing along too."

        Who are these new creatures that look very similar to Chaos and how does our mystery person know Relic? And will Relic be able to prevent Chaos from receiving anymore chaos emeralds? Find out in "A Monster Reborn Pt.3"
