Description Animethon 15 has come and gone and as such it is time to post the cosplay costumes that I worked on this year. Here is mine. I was Eruruu from Utawarerumono. I absolutely love this cosplay since it's so much fun to wear. Took me about a month to make and having waist length black hair was so new and fun. My absolute favourite part was the bow though. I can't explain why but I loved it the best.

There was a great deal of appliquΓ© on this one but since it was essentially all the same pattern it ended up being rather easy to make. The most time staking parts had to be the hand sewing for the tail and the ears (and cleaning up after making those. So much fluff and fur everywhere!).

My original gets all the credit for making the shoes though since I essentially ran out of time in the mist of making this cosplay and hers and brides maid dresses for my friends wedding. She did a fantastic job of them so be sure to let her know

And to my great surprise we ended up winning the best group in the novice devision of the cosplay contest this year with these cosplays. I was so shocked cause I was totally thinking we were only going to get honorable mention. But Yay!!! *dances*

Thanks so much for making the collage for me again Original. You really are the best in the entire world!

Hello! I'm hoping to cosplay as Eruru this year and I just came across this posting. I was wondering if you might be able to share some close up images of what the final applique for the dress/collar detail looks like I'm a first time (large project) cosplayer, and I've been combing the internet looking for the cleanest yet most secure way to make those designs (specific stitch, what kind of adhesive backing to use etc.) ^_^

Any advice would be MOST appreciated ^^

Thank you!

My Eruruu cosplay is actually not with me at this time, so I am not able to take a close up picture of it for you. I use the same appliquΓ© technique on another cosplay I have with me, so I can take a picture of that for you to see more specifically the stitching if you like. Send me a note with your email address and I'll forward it onto you. As well, if you have any specific questions about what to use or how to create a certain part of the cosplay I am always more than happy to provide some assistance.

I love this! I am in the process of making this outfit now, however, I am trying to figure out how to create the detail on the sleeves/neck/bottom of skirt. Any suggestions?

My method is to do it by applique. To make this easier I usually secure the detail to the main fabric body by using an iron on fabric adhesive type thing. There are a couple of types available. Sadly Wonder Under is the only name that is coming to me, but there are lots. After I have the detail ironed on I set my sewing machine to a really short zigzag stitch and stitch around the entire outside of the detail so it has a nice finished look and is really well secured.

Let me know if that makes any sort of sense or if there is anything else you have questions about. I love trying to help out fellow cosplayers.

LOL thanks! I'm so happy with how they turned out too. And it really is too bad that you couldn't be there. It was sooooo much fun but really, I know I would have chosen Japan over Animethon so I can't really be upset at you lol ^.~
