Description Taken from my tumblr [link] :

My headcanon idea of what Bartimaeus looks like in his “true form”.
Knowing that most of the time, Djinn go about in an amorphous form when in the void of the Other Place, I also know Djinn have true forms of their own, which are hidden on the seventh plane or higher. I always imagined Bartimaeus’ true form was very humanoid, hence why he never spoke of it in great detail (a Djinn with a human-esque form could be considered laughable in Djinn society), and had no qualms whatsoever being in a human form, sentimental attachments to Ptolmey aside.

Awww, why thank you!

Have you read the "prequel" to the Trilogy, "The Ring of Solomon"?

There's a prequel? No I haven't! It has been forever since I've gone to a Barnes and Noble, because I A) Don't have the money or B) All the books geared towards my age group are so disappointing, overdone, and cliche.

Well! When you get the chance, you should seek out "The Ring of Solomon"! Its a fantastic read. Tons of Bartimaeus and footnotes and gloriousness. And its relatively cheap (way cheaper than a bookstore at least) on Amazon.com.

Oh! And this is something that I heard recently from Stroud's twitter, but he plans on bringing Bart and Nat back someday.

Oh jeez I missed the footnotes, they were so great. Once I was reading a huge ass book with footnotes in it (not as fun as Bartimaeus's though) and he argued with me that a book with footnotes is a boring book. If only we had stayed together long enough for me to use Bartimaeus to prove him wrong.

And hooray! I was so sad when Nat died.

God, I know, right??

To both those things.

I have no idea how books with footnotes could possibly be boring. It gives brief subtext where it would otherwise be unable to join the story!

And Nat bby. ;n;

Well he was a jerk. The only book I ever got him to read was a football book, of course -rolls eyes-

And books with footnotes are awesome! It's the perfect way to cut away from the story and go on a different tangent without interrupting the story completely!

And I was all excited for the end because I thought he was going to end up with that thief chick (it's been a while since I've read it, I think her name was Kat though), but then she got all old, and Nat died.

Ahh, Kitty. I was never a giant fan of her. However, I love-love-love Nat and Bart! Its a bit sad that the Ring of Solomon is faaar beyond Nat's time, but Stroud actually provides several very beautiful substitutes.

Because King Solomon is a bundle of ohmygod adorable.

This is cool! I dunno, I always imagined his true form as some kind of weird, entirely alien looking creature, judging by Faquarl's 'tentacles' and Queezle's 'dorsal tubes' (what on earth is a dorsal tube?) but this is interesting too. I like it!

Lol, I enjoyed the "dorsal tube" thing. I always imagined a dorsal fin with tendrils attached to it. Like pipes. And thanks!

Cool! Love this design!
I have it my head his true form is somewhat a mixture between a cat and gargoyle, with wings, a beak like mouth and the ability to stand on two legs(not for very long, but for a good hour or so).

Thank you very much! I do like the interpretation of Ptolmey's form, but Ptolmey is still just another guise he takes.
