Flash Sentry from MLP gets hate for being a love interest, Hinata Hyuga from Naruto gets hated for being Naruto's love interest, Orihime gets hate because she loves Ichigo and yet Connie didn't get much hate because she is in love with Steven Universe?I could be surprised about this, in a very happy way. Because I love Connie, as well as the Steven x Connie ship (and its fusion, Stevonnie). Rebecca Sugar > Meghan McCarthy (I don't hate McCarthy though, She just needs to learn from Sugar on how to develop male characters the way they do with female ones, even if MLP and LPS were mainly for girls, but still she is very decent when it comes to universes and stuff.)

I dont understand, why do people hate Hinata? I prefer a love interest who DOESNT mutilate him everytime he does something.
(And i hate everything post season 3 of Mlp fim so Flash Sentry is a no brainer. Though my dislikes started on the season finale)
But Connie.. Got to mention, she's an interesting character, has a nice personality and is not only a love interest but also a really really good friend for Steven. I dunno what there is to dislike :3

I think part of the reason Hinata gets so much hate, is because her more rabid fans tend to knock down other female characters (usually Sakura) in order to raise her up. Β Others hate her because they believe she ruined the manga for getting Neji killed, etc., and all that other bullshit (I don't agree with that part though, I'm just repeating what her haters have said since the manga ended).
I personally don't like Flash Sentry, because he's too bland, and never contributes anything to the plot, or Twilight's character for that matter (at least Hinata was kind of interesting, and had a backstory).

I can root for Hinata because she was there for Naruto since the beginning. Only reason she stayed away from him was because she was too shy. She was probably one of the only 4 people in Konoha who didnt discriminate or think negativly of Naruto.
She's the reason Neji died? (Personally i find his demise to be a really bad desicion, especially since he cannot be revived because of Boruto.) Well i'm not going to look down on her for that. She's far too good of a character to be looked down on something she obviously didnt do intentionally. (Havent seen that episode because i stopped watching when i heard the news)
I know, right? He's so obviously just put into the movie as a typical teenage romance interest role. Heck, she had more chemistry with Cheerilee in the first season (I dont ship those two. I'm just using it as an example) than she has with a character they threw into a (personal opinion) bad movie.
