Beautiful! There were only two ships I really liked (well one really isn't a ship lol). Either KorraXMako or KorraXNo one (just to show kiddos you don't have to be in a relationship to be happy). I felt that KorraXAsami was forced and the creators were wanting to make a statement. Sigh... guess girls can't be in top physical shape, wear little to no make-up, have vulnerability and be attracted at the same time. If writers are going to write for people with a particular lifestyle, don't put it into the stereotypes.

Yeah I love Mako and Korra together; the way the show-runners set up everything (even in the final season) would have made for a great and beautiful resolution between the two characters (as I feel like her behavior towards Mako in Season 2 was beyond ridiculous) relationship-wise, and would have set a great example to the young-viewers that you shouldn't bite the dust on relationships just because you have a disagreement, or when things get hard, but look at Bopal and actually do what you can to resolve what went wrong. Instead, the show-runners essentially baited the ship on until the last minute. It was hard to watch honestly; by the last scene of the show; I felt like everything went wrong and it wasn't even the same show anymore. As an author, it makes me bitter to think about how poorly executed the finale was, but that's just my opinion, and I know there are plenty of people who did love the finale, and I'm happy for them to be able to enjoy it.
Truth is I would have been pleased if Korra came out of the series single, as well. In fact, that would have made more sense than her being in a relationship at all; but, again, it's all a matter of opinion and perspective.
Thank God for fan-fiction and artists.

Just telling the truth. I'm so sick of this and I hope the whole Avatar universe and story is forgotten soon.

Well, I still love the story itself; I'll just ignore the stuff that's said outside it and what's supposed to be "canon."

Hmmm...I'm not sure who that is, since I got fed up with the terrible writing and quit watching during the middle of Book II. But it would be nice though.

That's what I like about the show, how the villains are humanized and how we're reminded that the heroes are far from flawless. Unfortunately there's only so much they can fit in a single episode.
You say you stopped after season 2. Well, a lot of people say the show vastly improved in season 3, and after season 4, some people who initially disliked the show sang a completely different tune. But you judge for yourself.

I guess that's just something we'll have to judge for ourselves. Me, myself, I like the show well enough. Definitely a lot more than I thought I would at the beginning.
With The Last Airbender, I also started out lukewarm at best. Now I own every single season on DVD, and if I had more free time and privacy, I'd settle down to watch the entire story from start to finish.
All flaws and outside controversial comments aside, I can't imagine either show without the other.

Oh yes, I do agree with you. The show itself without all the controversies is amazing and had such potential. So much more of that world could have been explored and characters fleshed out more. Korra will always have a special connection with Aang and it would have been nice to see that explored more. All I can say now is that one day, the rights of the Avatar universe would be handed over to new writers and Mako and Korra given a better, developed chance.....even the story itself. Who knows?

I don't even mind Korra staying single. Her character and how far she's come really should be the primary focus anyway.

Oh my gosh, you totally said what I was thinking! Every time someone asks me about this, I say the same thing.....while I do support Mako and Korra, I would have been just as happy or even more happy with NO endgame. I would have loved to see Korra go into the Spirit World alone, accepting her destiny and learning more about who she was, not some messy love triangle and catering to over-zealous fans. She could have looked back one last time and smiled at Bolin and the others, but leave one question...who was she really smiling at? Asami? Mako? It would have been left up to the audience and the ending open for everyone's imagination. The fact is, what hurt me the most wasn't really "Korrasami", but what this whole, toxic fight about "Makorra" vs "Korrasami" did to the fandom, what it did to the beautiful story and potential of the Avatar world. It's sad, but as you said, there's always fanfiction and thankfully, many people have moved on.

And I didn't appreciate that the creators were all, "Well, tough luck. Korra and Asami are the official couple, whether you like it or not."
That was...not a smart move.

After all, their world is fiction anyway. And some people are going to interpret some things their own way, either way.
It would have been better if they had said, "You decide for yourselves. You view Korra's relationships however you like."

Guess it's for the readers to judge for themselves. But aside from knowing one major thing, I'm not too inclined to know what happens next.

If people want to read the comics, well and good for them. I'll just stick mainly to the DVDs.

Actually, since I live at home with younger siblings, I've never found the time to sit down and actually watch the DVDs in peace.
