Description Creepy little monster for my thesis project.
I don't actually have that much thought out about these. I imagine they act a bit like wolves and hunt in packs.

Reminds me ofย this ย D&D monster, the Ethereal Marauder.

Haha! I forgot about those things, they're pretty cute. I think I was going for something like the monsters from Tremors in terms of mouth parts on these creatures.

Cute...? They're awesome! And this monster you drew ย looks like it jumped straight out of Evolve!

you know what this reminds me of? The Kraken. As in, the rumors of the kraken in one book said that he had the ability to transform into a man, fed on fear, that sort of thing. I bet if they ever said that the kraken could turn into an animal, this would be it.

Very nice!
I can definitely see something like this evolving on another world.
Definitely more alien-like than those "Viper-Wolves" from a *certain* movie...

Yeah... Avatar. Wasn't really a fan of that movie. XD

Thank you!

I like the additional arms you put in to make it have 8 limbs, and it looks like it could run extremely fast...I'd need a day headstart against that thing.

Thank you! They're pretty fast but their extra legs are just for grabbing things.

Are they as curious as squid?

Aazure-Dragon In reply to Kinseth [2010-03-05 04:29:30 +0000 UTC]

Not really sure. I think they'd be fairly curious, probably about as intelligent as wild dogs.

I like to think African wild dogs.

They're pretty much the coolest canid in existence.

Very, very nice! I expecially love the design of the head and all those eyes.~
I just wonder if they actually have good sight or not..

Thanks!

I have no idea if they'd be able to see well or not, I don't actually think most animals with many eyes can.

My pleasure.

Yes, that was why I asked. Spiders generally can't see all that well, and this creature reminded me of a spider's eyes.
But of course there can always be a first.

It looks nice tho. I guess that once their prey is down it's easy to keep them down due to the extra 4 arms

Aazure-Dragon In reply to Daemigor [2010-03-03 15:44:15 +0000 UTC]

I think the last set of arms would be pretty useless. XD They're all nubby and vestigial.

Well thinking of uses for the little arms is still fun, and then the creatures would finally have a reason why they have them
