"In 1961, Klatu returned to Earth. This time, he bore no message, only a judgment."
Now that combined with this poster is a must for a movie!

In 1971 he returns again...to seed life on a barren world...

Outstanding idea!
Pity we couldn't have had THIS rather than the Keanu remake (dreadful). Keanu is spotty, but Michael Rennie was one of my all time favorites.
Extra points for Les Tremayne as the General!
Karen Steele as the female lead, huh? She's the only one of "Mudd's Women" who had any appeal as far as I'm concerned. Of the all the "Trek" women she'd clearly be one of the better choices. Not really competition for her Oscar and Tony award winning "predecessor" leading lady, but Patricia Neal is a tough act for anyone to follow.

I drop in General Mann whenever possible. He is the ultimate 1950s movie soldier.
As for Karen Steele, I just needed a hot chick and I didn't see this as a film with a high enough budget to get Patricia Neal back.
Thanks for the very kind words! If you like this, you should check out my Halloween posters:
