A lovely piece from Abandonzone, slightly more understated than previous works, but still resonating that charm we've come to know and love.
The lighting once again, takes command within this piece; working to seperate it into 3 layers, with the cool lighting concentrated around the ground floor, the first floor bathed in a warming glow and the ceiling almost becoming a culmination of the two.
There is also a very powerful symmetry within the shot, balancing it out nicely and making the progression through the shot easy.
The detail in this shot, helps to bring out the detail in the columns, and giving the depth to the shot.
The name "The Power of the Spirit" Helps us to look at the piece in terms of this locations function, viewing the raised pulpit, and imagining the seating and congrigation gathered for worship, gives the eventual decay more poignancy due to the cold tones now present within that portion of the shot, constrating with the warmth and happiness that may have been present before.
The warmth in the first level, balances out the palette and presents a more loving aspect.
The raise pulpit though pivotal in defining the personality of this piece, I dont feel strikes as a defining enough feature of the shot, and because of that and in someways the angle of the shot, purhaps if the shot were taken on the ground floor under the arches, it may possibly lend more impact.
However a good shot and good concept.
