Good tutorial. I've been using sai for a while, but I was hoping someone could help me with something else. Luminosity and shade and all of the other options aren't working. I can select them, but they don't do anything. The brush works like normal. Why is it doing that and how can I fix it.

And yet in Sai2 it does not do that anymore. What replaced the effect because there is now a ton of effect layer types in Sai2.

yknow, I keep asking people if they could direct me to a good tutorial for glow effects in SAI... and none of them helped so I took my lazy bum over to DA and voila. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Thank you! Question tho, is there a specific transparency setting you'd use for the airbrush?

where is the luminosity layer?

absolute-larry [2016-02-06 02:50:52 +0000 UTC]
This doesn't work at all for me. I tried selecting the color with the eyedropper and then using the airbrush on my luminosity layer, but the airbrush won't do anything.

There has to be color in the background.

This is such an incredibly poor and tacky "glow" 'tutorial', like damn that step 4 is hideous...Β but I guess at least it informs people of the luminosity layer mode?

I downloaded the file from my old desktop onto my laptop, And even if I get the new version, It would only be the trial, because I have no cash besides my convention money.

Do you use any other tool like Blur? because those colors look more like they have been blurred...
Your steps where really confusing to me...Maybe you should do a more detailed one that has better instructions? x.x;

Enemom In reply to AussieGirlEmi [2015-05-27 20:38:36 +0000 UTC]
The glow effects actually might be achieved using low opacity hard brushes like marker, but blur could be another.

that doesn't work for every colour, so use the screen and luminosity blending modes in whatever amounts
