What kind of workflow do you follow creating new characters?
Do you sculpt and go down from there? Or do you start with subdivision meshes, sculpt details, and go lowpoly?
I am really confused.

In this case I started with a naked base mesh and modeled her outfit around it. Sometimes I do a sketchy blockout sculpt in zbrush first to define the silhouette.
The correct workflow would be to start with a blockout, create a naked base mesh if you don't have one, create the outfit following the blockout and do the lowpoly part. This is what we usually do at work.
