this altogether is lovely despite the slight discrepancies in the proportionate ratio. I adore it.

you say proportion off, i say that leg seems off...perhaps the anatomy, but then again it could be because she's a ballerina and i have no idea what i'm talking about, but i wanted to point it out

that aside, i just love the grace and highlights in this!

I really love the way the hands fan out in the butterfly affect. The shading is supurb... I love the lace and how you added a few simple lines to bring that out

thanks.. i try to stay close to tonal values in the photograph which in hindsight looks far better than this drawing

thank you... -__-
yeah... taking time off to do 'traditional' stuff's absolutely useful for improvement... i didn't like drawing it initially, but learnt a lot of small things that really help with other works

I bet. I keep thinking about doing it, but my hands just wanna mess around with other things. One day I'll get around to it.

consistent, small practices really help more than large, Master copies i think
at least ya can be committed even if due to lack of time -_-

I think the shading of the back is a bit off and the leg's a tad weird. Lighting is good, though.

Aberzheim In reply to Ananova [2008-02-17 14:30:29 +0000 UTC]

yeah... spine sticks out too much.
Leg shading needs to be improved, check.
Ya, high-exposure lighting's really nice for these kind o' shots -_-
