This guy's body of work is amazing as a Malaysian artist.
Primarily cause he's a realist and figurative painter- uncommon if one considers a seterotypical view of Malaysian traditional artists as solely abstract ><
first time A1 using charcoals, used Canson fer the grains and tooth- smudging and doing fiddly details with a crumbly stump is pretty fun XD
week-long, on-off (okay, I kinda skipped some classes to finish it - -" )

I love Ahmad Zakii Anwar... he live near my area...twice saw him sitting alone sipping tea...but don't have the courage to approach him...Love his work

I tried to follow the original source as best as I can for the study, and like ya said, the atmosphere and the surreal nature of it was what drew me to do this study
