There are rap songs I like, like Knaan Take a minute its about war and how bad it was and some tupac songs about how bad life can be, they have meanings, just like every other song. I understand your opinion but rejecting others when you put your own on the internet, people are allowed to say what they want and i already seen in the comments they did, but you acted childish and rejected their opinions. I already know what you'll say if you say anything at all, I listen to rap sometimes and I am an A+ student. I do agree that some of it isn't that good, and stupid to say at the least. So don't share you opinion and say others cant express their own.

Not really hypocritical. I never said I did care, thus me not caring isn't really being a hypocrite. Just saying. The stamp states my opinion, and for someone with an opposing opinion to fight mine /on the page of my stamp/ it's not my problem. I'll respond however.

There were/are certainly a large number of rappers who use their Β musical endeavors for good and, moreover, actually have musical talent. This stamp is mostly geared toward the general masses of 'fuck bitches get money' rappers.

Aaaaaand your statement is ignorant. There are artists who write meaningful lyrics, and there's the majority of artists who, well, don't. The same carries for other genres, as well.
Let's do this, though: What 'rapper' are you basing your opinion off of?
π: 0 β©: 1
pizzur In reply to Abfc [2013-07-12 22:05:47 +0000 UTC]
macklemore
nicki minaj
lil wayne
eminem
B.o.b
Jay Z
Tupac
and many others
Rap has been there for me when no one else has. Rap is poetry to a beat, rap has saved my life, and told me to carry on even when things are hard.
I have survived poverty, loss,an anxiety disorder, and other personal struggles and sometimes the only thing that kept me going was my rap. I will not stand for disrespect to something that has been with me my entire life.

Abfc In reply to pizzur [2013-07-15 20:49:19 +0000 UTC]
lol you said nicki minaj. Your opinion is automatically invalid. It's cool that it helps you, but that doesn't change the lack of talent bolstered by nicki minaj or lil wayne, whose lyrics are far less than inspiring and whose beats are a dime a dozen. I have a great deal of respect for some rappers, such as Eminem, Macklemore, Del the Funkee Homosapien, the Pharcyde, etc. But these rappers of late years are absolutely shitty excuses for musicians.

pizzur In reply to Abfc [2013-07-15 21:05:42 +0000 UTC]
Maybe you've only heard their songs on the radio, which are far less meaningful than others. I can accept the fact that you don't like rap, but to call it crap and shit- that is something I will not stand for.
you probably don't look down into the meaning of their songs-someone could
right the exact same lyrics except worded in fancier language and everyone would think it was beautiful.

Oooor I /do/ always listen to lyrics and I've found over several years that only very, very few rap artists put anything more than drugs and hoes into their lyrics. Lil' Wayne and Nicki Minaj are not musicians, it does not matter what else you have to say, that remains fact.
π: 0 β©: 1
pizzur In reply to Abfc [2013-07-16 18:26:43 +0000 UTC]
Β
Β It absolutely and completely does NOT remain a fact. and I highly doubt you've really listened to rap. Nicki Minaj has taught me it's okay to be myself, or to not be a little stick thin girl. It's okay to be weird and that I should never give up on my self when it gets hard. They started out in ghetto ass little towns and look where they are now--they higher than you. Lil' Wayne has never given up, none of them have, they start when they just little kids and they've worked to get where they are. they have worked for it.Β
Β You state that your stamp is an opinion but when people try to confront you about it, you get hella butt hurt, and act like it's a fact. You refuse to see other people's opinion and you are obviously not mature enough to hide the comments and are seeking attention.
and now I leave you in the words of Nicki Minaj
"You a stupid hoe"Β
π: 0 β©: 1
Abfc In reply to pizzur [2013-07-16 20:28:02 +0000 UTC]
And those very words are why I cannot respect such artists. Anyone can repeat a feel-good story, true musicians can make you feel a certain way even /without/ lyrics.
And I don't hide my comments because I'm not ashamed, lol. Immature would be hiding any comment which was discredited. I stand by my views, even if they differ with yours. Here's an idea, if you like your rap, listen to it, and don't use my stamp. OMG PROBLEM SOLVED. V: I don't get why you would read all the previous comments, find out for yourself that I don't, in fact, care about others opinions' on the issue, and then still insist on telling me your opinion. You said yourself that I don't care. V:

Hip Hop music was born from poverty. People in the Bronx only had (parents with) a turntable and some LP's. They cut out pieces from that music that they called breaks (parts where only drums are heard) and repeated them. Know they had a beat. The rapping came from the absence of a real voice in America. Rapping or Emceeing is way stronger than singing (no disrespect), and you could deliver messages more easily.
Hip Hop music was disrespected by radio and record companies, for being too political. People would not buy it, so it wouldn't make any money. Hip Hop had a true message back then: "It's like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder how I keep from going under". This was back in the 80's.
Throughout the 90's, the gangsta rap and commercialized money-and-bitches-rap rose to prominence. Suddenly record companies were interested, and it was all over the radio. That's where we are right now. The dumbed-down rap that's right in your face when you turn on the TV. The message is gone.
But when you look through that, and look back at 80's and early 90's Hip Hop music, its lyrics are undeniably genius. Though, some music is just not made for everyone, so it might just not be your taste in music. Still, there's no reason to attack Hip Hop music that way.
At least respect the people who created a whole culture out of nothing.

well because the people who agree with it usually comment with something very basic and useless, like an emoticon or some one-sentence remark of appreciation. I usually reply to such comments in the same manner, with not much thought or consideration.

How about you use the stamp if you agree with it, or move on if you don't? There's no need to make negative counter-comments in the first place.
