Description
Birrin sisters out fishing in the local inlet. The eldest has become quite good with her antique spear-thrower. A work in progress for the book.

this is very good, nice to see people using an atlatl, took me a moment to realise that the green/yellow thinks were sheaths for the spears, what do the tips look like?

I'm sure they look much different up-close. Besides, branching out leaves for collecting sunlight is seems like a useful adaptation for photosynthetic organisms no matter what planet they are on.

At first i though that the spear-thrower was an atlatl and the potency was determined by the movement of the head. Then i noticed the horn-like piece in the middle, and how is conected to the mouthguard and reachable by hand, so it's some kind of crossbow?

Okey there are two questions that come to my mind.
1. How do they throw a spear with the positioning of their forward arms?
2. Is that smaller Birrin having fur? I thought they only have like some sort of leathery skin.
