What do you do when you're sick during your happy summer days?
I prefer to stop my current Epic Summer Program and come back to my hobby
I haven't stitched anything for 2 months, and I really missed my Box of Random Threads, so here's my comeback project!

The inspiration was given to me by and their amazing contest .
So I made my own contest entry to show some love to my homeland.
I found this little pattern while browsing the Internet,
but I guess it was originally printed in issue 175 of Cross Stitch Collection.

Matryoshka , or simply a Russian doll, is one of the most popular and recognizable symbols of our country. So my choice is very predictable
The pattern was very exciting to work with - it may look simple, but it has lots of half-stitches and backstitching.
Also I added some silver and green metallic threads, because "Hey, I must use them at least once!"

Originally, I didn't have a plan to make anything out of the finished embroidery.
But I took 18 count of Aida, so my Matryoshka turned out so tiny...
How could I frame such a little design? (Its size is only 7x3.5 cm) Then a wild idea came to my mind, and I tried to make a real doll.
It was an experiment, and I tried to sew two sides of the doll (the back is white, so I don't take a picture of it) in the way we usually use in making biscornu cishions It was extremely hard, but whatever.

Actually, I still don't know how to use it.
It could be a nice pincushion but it will remind me of Voodoo magic.
It's going to be a nice riddle for me.

And now - back to adventures!
