Thank you! I am glad too - and I'm a bit sore from walking through deep snow, hehe.

Rarely used muscles, lifting the legs walking around like a stork. It will be better next time when it snows so heavily.

Hmm... maybe it will be better the time after next. I went out again yesterday after work - similar distance of 5km or so, similar snow. I felt like I had walked 15km uphill! It was perfect for snowshoes, but I have a habit of leaving the trails to go into the woods where snowshoes like to get stuck.Β I will just have to get stronger, because I am not going to stay inside when the outside is so beautiful.

Good advice! The lunges would help, I think. I climb ladders at work almost every day, sometimes non-stop, but that involves more strength and less endurance because it's only for a few seconds each time. I could probably walk farther already if I just stopped to rest every few minutes, but I always want to see what is around the next corner!

Climbing ladders make the calves first ache then strong. Every time I have to cut my appletreesΒ oder paint the house they rankle. - What about stopping and shooting (always a good excuse to have a rest)?

Yes, stopping and shooting always works well. It only takes a few minutes of rest and I am ready to go again. I run into trouble, though, when I am too far from my vehicle after the sun sets - then I have to work against time! (I carry a flashlight, but I would not want to assume it will always work when I need it)

Haha! Yes, getting stuck in the woods can become dark very quickly! Things start to look backwards without a GPS and a good flashlight.

Aww, I'm sorry you don't get snow. It's especially awesome when I don't have to drive through it or shovel it or get it out of the back of my shirt!Β Wait...... I always have to do that darn it!

I can understand having fond childhood memories of snowy winters. And I still love winter even now - I just respect it differently. Probably like living in the desert, given that if you aren't aware of nature's hazards it can get you killed. Even driving into either one can go terribly wrong if your car isn't stocked with a few essentials.Β Β Sheesh, look at me acting all serious! I'd better go do something really dorky to balance it out. Bye!!Β Β
