i wasn't sure if i was going to put this on here, but i can't help the geek i am. i made an IDIC necklace to wear to the new movie. i wore it and no one seemed to notice whatsoever, but i was aware of it, so that was all that mattered. it seems i am singular in my geekdom at work and family settings as well. i've not had a single person recognize what it is. oh well. i stuck on a cap of Spock wearing his because he is awesome. I love it! The concept of of Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations is an important one, especially now. Diversity must never be considered a dirty word. Roddenberry himself said that humanity would only have reached maturity and started to grow in wisdom when we move beyond just "tolerance" of other races and cultures and begin to delight in the differences in thought, ideas & culture these people represent. He said that Star Trek was meant to represent that ideal future for the human race.

The episode was "Is There In Truth No Beauty?" where he also wears that cool visor thing. I always find it amusing to see actors from the original series later portraying different characters altogether in later series.

Dr. Miranda Jones in that episode is played by the same actress as Next Generation's Dr. Pulaski.
Spock wears the IDIC necklace in that episode to sort of honor Dr. Jones. She worked with the Vulcan Science Academy even though she's human, which was a pretty big thing back then. ^_^

Amazing, it really looks like metal. Mine was quite similar, also with a tiny glass stone, but didn't look that good. After seeing yours, I tried again and like the result slightly better, though I'm still not completely satisfied...
