It's a phenomenal piece....as for the realism. The scene itself is too clean. The most realistic item in the image is the wood on the island. The wine rack looks great, but there is little variation there. I can agree with grizato on the window, but I think it could also use something to make it look a bit used. ie dish towel across the counter, a glass of water with some condensation on it etc. All in all awesome kitchen.

The more I think about it the more I want to revisit this scene. Setup some HDRI lighting and tweak a few things that have been mentioned here. I like the dish towel idea and glass of water! Yes the wine rack is to ordinary, I will add some colour variation and remove some, quite a lot there.

You're very welcome....I've only just begun learning 3D modeling and the like. I'm currently modeling a kitchen from a tutorial as a launching pad for other arch-vis projects. My prior work is more of the conventional nature ie paints, pencils, ink and charcoal. I'm fortunate to have a couple of jobs right now doing some book covers.

What improvements need making? Thinking of doing a version do with a fence in the window and then another house wall in the background.

Excellent work. I didn't think it was a photograph, not because it couldn't be, but only because a professional photographer might have worked harder on the lighting, and an amateur might have left a few random crumbs or banana peels or something in the scene.

Good Job, looks very good. Just make it render for..say 2000 samples and it should look perfect.
