Like many people who listen to rock/metal/punk/..., I fell in love with chucks. Last summer I've seen knee high chucks in a movie and couldn't stop dreaming about it. I went to Portland, L.A., looked all over Germany, but nobody had any overknee chucks! They just didn't exist! At least not for naturally born like me, of course Lizzy McWire could have them *grrrr*One day I went into a store and saw those cute black fake chucks and just bougth them. I got some fabric, 2 pairs of ties and lots lots lots of those ring thingies.
From that day on, I worked for 2 weeks every fucking day (even though I've never sewen before), sew till my fingers were bleeding but finally finished them, my over knee chucks. The next day in school, people I didn't even know came up to me, telling me how cool my shooes are ^^
Bad thing is the fact that I need 15 min to put them on, but I guess I can deal with it ^^

I know boot length Chucks are considered more of a girl's fashion, but I'd still like to find some calf-high Chucks in a Men's 10 1/2. I think they'd look sick combined with cargo shorts.

RTBU (Refuse to be usual) is a japenese based store on ebay that sell thigh high converse type shoes, now the great thing about them even though they may be a little expensive is the zip they have on the side so you only have to lace your shoes once and only tighten them when needed.
Maybe try putting a zip in yours so you can do the same, or consider it if you make another pair.

I'm pretty sure the under-the-knee ones have zippers on the sides -those cheaters- I admire you for taking that extra time for a pair of awesome looking shoes though.

They ARE awesome! I know knee-high chucks cost about $80-$100 bucks where I come from, and those are not exactly the branded ones. I keep meaning to do a pair myself, but meh, projects. Your shoes are seriously awesome, and they tempt me like nothing else has to make a pair!

iv been thinking of doing the same thing not that hight but up to my calf. i have very small feet so i cant find hight converses in my size... 
i know how to sow so im guessing it shouldn't be that hard. [fingers crossed] ....
anyways about the 15mins it takes you to put them on. why dont you take a little more time on them and add a zipper to the back just like a regular boot. thats what im planning on doing with mine.
