They like the rain
Did I ever tell you about my dad's gander? Dad hatched him out of his egg, so the gander was like a loyal dog. But the geese always loved the rain and the chickens hated it and would hide under their house. The geese would chase and attack the chickens sometimes. So once I looked out of my bedroom window as a rainstorm started to see the gander standing in front of the gate to the chicken enclosure stopping the chickens from coming in. All the poor chickens were walking up and down trying to work out how to get past, but they were too scared. As soon as the rainstorm stopped the gander moved and let them through! Who says animals don't have a sense of humour?

Well, I'll bet they do, though, in my grandparents' town, the geese hide under the bridge when it rains.
No, you never told me that--and he sounds like quite the humorous fella. XD I mean, I feel bad for the chickens, who must have felt like their world was turned upside-down, but--still, it's amusing.

Maybe the geese in your grandparents' town think they're crafted entirely out of sugar and will dissolve in the rain? (maybe I'm getting a little surreal there...)
