The best one of your recent waterfalls, the surrounding add a bit more to the fall itself - especially the gangway. And the foggy atmosphere suits the motiv. Great capture - great place.

Thanks!
Its interesting that you mention the fog, because I had to touch the shot up quite a bit to get rid of the large amount of mist from the falls, which had created significant contrast loss.

I can imagine that, it is a pretty high fall after all - but it is cool as it is now.

AH HA!

This is what water texture is all about. I would give a more detailed critique... but I'm exhausted from shopping for a banquet dress. But, good work. I'm impressed.

Nicely done!

Since you, too, use Velvia, are you aware of the new Velvia 100? I don't mean the currently available 100F... this is supposed to be EXCELLENT. For more info see [link]

Thanks

No I havent heard of it, but I definitely will check/try it out. I've used mainly 100F for my slide stuff...

I primarily use Velvia 50, so I was quite intrigued when they released V100F. However, it didn't really live up to the hype (matching V50's saturation level). Anyway, I thought you would be interested... I know I'm going to buy a few rolls as soon as it hits the streets (sometime this summer probably).

AcousticAlchemy In reply to greglief [2005-04-09 00:54:06 +0000 UTC]

I will too. I think 100F's saturation is fine. Compared to other slide films it is eye popping, and the difference between it and 50 is such that I really dont feel like using a slower film for a minimal color change. I also have found 100F's accuracy to be a tad better.
To each his own I guess Its all a matter of preference

When I started using an SLR, Velvia 50 was recommended to me so I cut my teeth with it and immediately became accustomed to its saturation. I have tried Velvia 100F on several occasions, but went back to Velvia 50. When I want more accuracy, I generally go with Provia 100.

As you said, "a chacun son gout"!

it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. These shots only catch about 1/10 of everything that is there. Thank you for your comment

I actually like the blue of the water and how the foliage has come out!!
I also love the glimpses of bridges/walkways that add scale to the pic.
Another great capture!!
