I met similar guy during my first year studies in Budweis, he was rugged, dirty clothes, missing almost all of his teeth and painting beautiful aquarells of the Přemysl Otakar II. square. We chatted a bit and he told me he had nowhere to go so he traveled cities like Carlsbad, Prague, Brno and painted what he saw - his sketch-book was quite a treasure, not only plain architecture, but he was able to catch people moving there . And I liked his vest - it was like the ones you see photographers usually wear, but instead of random camera gear, he had flasks with mixed colors stuffed inside of pockets, quite hilarious... Hell, those were the times, I wish I could meet that fellow and his sketch-book again

To quote Bart Simpson - "It is sad when they get old". I mean I do hold my elders in respect, but seeing some individuals makes me think they deserve more to life, although both your photographer and my painter seem happy with what they got...

Maybe he was an art teacher who simply got fed up with everything. Look at the way he holds the pages apart. Bet there's a bit more to him than meets the eye. Nice catch and story.
