Medium: Colored PencilSize: 9 x 12 inches
This is a Christmas present I drew for my tenant. She is an avid bird-watcher. Took about 10 hours total, many layers of color.

The bird was so captivating I didn't even look at the background. I think it works well. You have a good sensibility with birds. Not everyone can depict this type of subject matter well. This should be a portfolio piece for sure.

The bluejay is really good, the background looks a bit rushed. I do that too sometimes if I have spent ages doing the main subject just stick a quick background on it.
