Client: eBay Guarenteed Sketch WinnerMedia: PITT Pen and COPIC marker on Strathmore Drawing paper.
We've instituted a program wherein anyone who wishes to can try to get a guarenteed sketch from me at every appearance. It's not a perfect system, but anything I can do to prevent the STAMPEDE on Day One of any show, I will attempt.
The winner's request is Mina Murray, from THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, Vol. I, Issues 1-2, where she disguised herself as a French whore to lure Dr. Jekyll into a trap. I think I was unconsciously channeling one of Toulouse-Lautrec's posters of caberet performer Aristide Bruant when I did this...

Your style has always been very Art Nouveau, which was primarily Toulouse Lautrec's era/style, so I can see the comparison. Always been a big fan of your stuff, and especially your wicked humour. Guess I'm in the minority because I liked the Movie of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but I loved Peta's portreyal of Mina, so your depiction, true to the comics, is not 100% what I'd do, but I have to say I love the tones and splash of red. Very much the Character. As always its a pleasure to see any of your artworks.

I was referring more to the content of the Toulouse-Lautrec piece - someone wearing a scarf - than the actual compositional or rendering style of the final execution.

I love the artistic variation I see in your many Minas. It's fascinating to see her looking young, innocent, and almost girlish in the lovely sketch of her and Mr. Hyde, and then looking so sultry and voloptuous and undeniably womanly here. I love it.
