Description A rendering of my model of a Lamborghini Genesis, which was Lamborghini's first look into family cars. It was made into a working car but never took off.

I LOOOOOOOOOOVE concept cars of the nineties! Especially the Buick Wildcat and the Mitsubishi HSR-II.

Yeah, Italdesign used to do a lot of concepts for Lamborghini so I guess it could be classified as a typical Lambo

Yep and it's crazy awesome Amazing departure from the typical Lambo cars !

Very well done. I will admit, it's pretty good looking for a van. But I'd still take a Murcielago over that any day

Thanks It is indeed a very good looking car, but it was surely held back by the limitations of the technologies and Lamborghini's financial problems. There's no denying that their flagship cars are better though

liked your lambo genesis model so much, 'cuz like such concepts in general. very well done, but needs more outdoor and studio renders. this one looks more like a sketch than a 3d render. maybe needs DOF and HDR reflections. also open doors showing detailed interior would be great. plz show the wireframe. i'd also like to give you a challenge of another great concept van Italdesign Columbus. can you do that withot blueprints using only photo refs? BTW do you have any accounts on 3dtotal?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamKop In reply to timonza [2013-01-10 11:03:00 +0000 UTC]

Well the model isn't really finished so I didn't have a chance to do a more in-depth render, and the wireframe is also pretty basic for now. I've never seen the Columbus so I might give it a shot one day in the future. I model all of my cars from pictures, since they are not available in blueprint form.
I am not on the 3dtotal page, only deviantart

can you advise any good lessons of modelling without blueprints?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamKop In reply to timonza [2013-01-14 21:36:39 +0000 UTC]

Well you can use a program like the ImageModeler. I'm not quite sure if the rules were changed, but you could get it along with every kind of program for free.
You load the pictures into the program and then set up dozens of reference points on multiple pictures. If the locations are precise enough, the program will allign them up and create a 3D space with the markers in it. You can load it all to any kind of 3D modeling program to do the model - the program even emulates the cameras that were used to take the pictures, so you can load a photo as the background and directly compare the model. It's not 100% perfect though, because cameras vary from model to model and have all kinds of distortions.

Yeah it's a crazy design, but just as the rest of the cars that Lamborghini did, it's an amazing concept and if it only made it to the production line, vans would look different today for sure. Their mainline cars (Miura, Countach, Diablo etc.) probably had the biggest impact on the sports car world and Genesis could be a start of a revolution as well. I hope that Urus has a good run and that they make Estoque as well

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

melkorius In reply to AdamKop [2012-10-12 16:18:58 +0000 UTC]

The Estoque is almost a revival design, it remind me the Frua, but with more aggressive lines. The Urus...humm...it looks like a car made to make competition between brands like Bmw, Mercedes and Porche!

AdamKop In reply to melkorius [2012-10-12 16:57:48 +0000 UTC]

Yep and I'm sure Lamborghini will emerge victorious from that - their design is actually unique (BMWs and Porsche just stretch their cars and move up a bit)

thats a lamborghini? intersting. but its a van too. I wonder how it'd work. but I've been in cars that are built as both fast and lugjury. like my dad's bmw can lower it self to go into sports car mode and pull another 100 miles per out of its powerhouse of an engine. so logicaly this think can do like wise. that window across the vehicle is intersting yet not plausible in reality. I've seen alot of concept cars go to dust because of the glass's breakibility. still it looks great. one of these days we'll see them I hope. you know now that I look at it I think I've seen something like this van in a hotwheel. I don't mean to sound like to bear that brings bad new but this car works on all but some levels. I wonder if this thing has the 2 modes of driving like my dad's BMW does. over all I like it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamKop In reply to Aseika [2012-10-12 10:09:00 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it's the real deal, you can even see the video of it here: [link]
It may seem as if the glass could be at danger, but in reality it has about 7 points of suspension, so it's pretty much safe. This being a Lamborghini, I guess it would be able to get to the top speed right up without any tricks

Is the idea that you have three rows of seats or two? would need a good trunk for luggage

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamKop In reply to Krulos [2012-10-11 17:27:38 +0000 UTC]

Well it's a mixed setup - there are two seats in the front, one in the middle and two in the rear.

Not only the looks but it also reached speeds of a sports car Anyway, you can get Urus in 2017 and it looks more aggressive
