Brilliant! I love this design as it fits great in the SW universe...like an old republic design.Β I have a played with a similar shape for an old Sith vessel, but never this so far with it. Kudos bro!

so its literally a Crait Ski Speeder but turned into a starfighter?

Oh that would be the other way around since it's much, much older.
And even though it's old, it doesn't fall apart like the Crait speeder These wings actually fold for landing although I didn't render them out in a different position.

I remember this ship. It was Sith Lord Exar Kun's vehicle of choice. But your rendition is really good.

It's slightly changed though - it changed so much throughout the comic that it was hard to follow even the general shape of it.

Wasn't very consistent, huh? I meant the design in the comic.

Yeah, I took all the pics I could find for the model and there was literally no two identical shapes of the ship. Its shape changed with every angle.

I was thinking more like the Grate Hyperspace war Era

Great piece. Wonderful colour, detail, and use of light and shade.

Indeed. From my point of view it is better to have the ship brightly lit so the detail can be seen. I cannot understand people spending hours detailing a vessel, only to spoil it by putting it in the dark. It may be closer to reality, but the idea is to see the ship in all its glory.

It kinda reminds me of the ship that was used in the Tales of the Jedi comics, theΒ Nebulon Ranger
Overall, I find the design very unique and I could actually see this ship being used in the early years of hyperspace travel in the Star Wars Universe

Oh yeah I did a model of that one too actually. I'll upload it shortly.

I love the art from the old school tales of the Jedi and this is a much needed render. I would be super excited to see more 3d renders from that series

I like the odd asymmetric look.Β The left wing (pilot's left) looks like it can retract/extend and the right looks to have hinges all of which are very cool touches.Β If that'sΒ antennaeΒ on the end of the left wing it seems to make sense to keep them away from the drive (that I assume is directly behind the cockpit) emissions.Β If it's a weapon must be hard to line up a good shot?Β Β I think the cablesΒ (those look especially thick) would be okay in space but wonder aboutΒ entering an atmosphere?Β

AdamKop In reply to starbiter [2018-10-31 08:37:36 +0000 UTC]
Yeah in the comics the wings are supposed to fold for landing. I guess the cables are really strong and fire-proof ... or it enters the atmosphere really slow

Odd asymmetric starships weren't my favorite in the comic. Cables, and struts, that's not a durable space ship XD
