Description 41, to be exact. I decided on Monday that I'm not particularly good at drawing Spidermen. Which probably doesn't keep normal people awake at night, but by extension I think it menas I'm not particularly good at drawing gesture, motion, or flow in my figures. So I decided to work on Spidey for a week, see how many I could get, and see if it helped.

The result was a bunch of strange anatomy, weird foreshortening, funky gestures, and a surprising amount of fun. I decided to post the whole lot of them, warts and all (with a touch of Photoshops makeup). It was a great exercise, and while I may not be any better at the notorious webslinger, it was nice to connect with some of my artistic heroes, many of whom left their mark on the character (there's even one homage in there).

I borrowed a stock photo from [link] , thanks much for the resource. Spiderman belongs to Marvel, and was created by Stan and Steve (and, possibly, Jack).

A few poses just keep looking like Wade |D I can't help it! Their costumes are sorta similar (it's hard to tell the blue from black in this case)

This... is really cute. I mean in an adorable cool kind of way. I especially like the one where he's tip toeing.

Thanks. I wondered if anyone would notice that one, where I went a little goofy. Spiderman works best with a little levity, IMO.

Great exercise! These are awesome abd each one completely different. Good job coming up with so many spidey poses.

Thanks, man! (technically, I only came up with forty of them, though )

If by Jack you mean Jack Kirby, he didn't actually have anything to do with Spider-Man. Stan Lee went to him originally to design the character but wasn't happy with how he drew Peter Parker, feeling that he made him look too conventional and not the small awkward guy Stan wanted.

Also, as awesome as this is, it brings back painful memories of the Clone Saga. It's MAXIMUM CLONAGE ALL OVER AGAIN! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Yeah, I've heard a bunch of different accounts of how that went down. Jack did draw that classic Amazing Fantasy cover, the first appearance of Spidey, though (he isn't even in the issue in costume).
