This is an illustration i did for stardrift empires nova, a new universe in stardrift empires. check it out if you get a chance. [link]

this is a new leviathan cargo ship used to haul huge quantities of resources from one planet to another. the hercules ships that surround it were already portrayed as massive ships, so i had to come up with a comp that made it seem larger still. so making it larger than cities and blocking out the sun above them worked out well to portray that. i had a ton of trouble with the clouds though, as i really didn't understand them. but it worked out in the end to saturate the hell out of the image, making the clouds far more yellow and orange than i expected them to need to be. made for an interesting and frustrating learning experience.
