Description This is an old rifle belonging to my son. I thought some might be interested in a little bit of Australian hisrory. More information can be found here [link]

It is a short magazine Lee- Enfield 303 rifle (SMLE)

Various models used through WW1 & WW2

This particular rifle was Australian made at Lithgow in 1942.

Although the date on the stock is 1947, this is just an armoury marking.

It was in service until the mid fifties.

At first i thought this was a Mosin Nagant but at closer look I can see it's not ^^
They share some similarities, although almost all rifles did back then.

My dad owns a Mauser 98k from WWII that he got when he was in the HomeGuard It's even got that SS Swastika mark on the handle ^^^

Nice Rifle

That's cool. I've been wanting to put together a collection of military arms of WWII and have been looking at the different Enfield rifles.

Nice I noticed that bolt action rifle before I read your description. I'm kinda a history nut lol.

I really like the carving on the stock to, gives it character.

I like how you spaced the images, the pictures are all nicely taken to. They are pretty powerful images.

What a stunning rifle.
Beautiful layout of each shot, and how the lighting effects the shine and light on the wood.
Amazing really.

I suppose it would be great to fire one of these, no?

No problem. Newer gun just aren't as classy as they used to be. Old Browning rifles I find most visually pleasing.
