I think you've got the general idea down. The only thing I'd note is the tendency of some folk to draw the metal discs to large. That off sets the physical scale some by hiding parts of the torso. Imagine a skyscraper with large windows versus many small ones. They can be the same size but one will seem that much bigger.
Differences of style matter also. I handle anatomy and proportions in a more anime/comic book hybrid style. Striving for that Street Fighter and Guilty Gear look. I think all of your renditions of him have been on point which is why I came to you for a sketch.

You did Mention some freedom to mess with the design but i didn't think of it as a option for a full on costume redesign.
When i initially did the thing for Gilead I was going for an alt-universe version, so the stops were off.
And if i may say so myself , I liked Gilead's Alt-verse costume but i liked the Alt-verse version/costume of Vector even better.
But I may grab one of your Kolossus images and play a bit in a few weeks. Just to see what we can do wit it.
No promises it's going to hit though man..
