A belated birthday commission for *Rikaflare of her character Kaida, an ice-nymph warrior of sorts.
This was originally supposed to be just a pencil portrait in the style of my "Beautiful Memory" piece, but then I decided to add a light color wash to bring out the look of the ice. Drawing snowflakes and icy mist as a background theme was new for me, but a fun challenge!Artwork Β©me [link]

i love this,it's so pretty ^~^ Im planning on making characters for my story, but i don't know how to start...can you tell me what type of paper you use (A4,A3 etc.) and what type of pencils you use?? Your art is really beautiful and it inspires me to do better.

I use regular 8.5x11" (A4, I believe?) acid-free printing paper, and 0.5 mechanical pencils.

Lovely piece. I love her soft almost dreamy expression and the color scheme pulling on the purples in very nice and soothing for a winter theme, keeping it in the "cold" area but still giving it a warmth that echoes her expression.

Just a low opacity painting under the lines. The pencil layer was set to multiply.

Wow, its amazing what color can do to make your beautiful drawings pop! The first thing that caught me was her beautiful face - she is so absolutely lovely! Her eyes are so real and soft. And I adore her hair, it has so much depth! (I really need to work on doing that)
The details are incredible, I really love the ice and debris on her shoulder, and the butterfly wings(?) where her hair ties. I bet those snowflakes were "fun" to draw! Hehe. But really, this is stunning!!
