Description
My new attempt at fixing the type chart.
I tried addressing the biggest flaws in it, while keeping it justified.
I know some of the changes are radical (like Grass>Electric), but in those cases, I would not have made them if there wasn't the same thing going on the reverse way already (Grass already resisting Electric for example).
And of course, this is a heckload of changes, and in no way realistic expectations, since ANY future change at all is unlikely enough.
Most important is the extremely weak Ice-def:
--resist Water (cool two-side resistance)
--resist Ground (strongest type, and useful to resist, justified by reverse weakness)
--resist Flying (same logic as Rock)
Then there is Grass-def, which could use any buff it can get:
--resist Fairy
-and in turn, Fire loses the Fairy resistance
Same for fragile Psychics:
--resist Fairy
Necessary fix for Rock:
--resist Rock (same logic as Steel resisting itself, but they should be fine walking on their own hazard too)
Steel has double the resistances of anything else:
--weak to Electric (Electric wasn't any real threat while it imo should be, also justified by Electric resisting Steel)
Now its time to make a distinction between Ghost and Dark offense, by making two tough types weak to them:
--Normal weak to Dark (same logic as Fight weakness)
--Fairy weak to Ghost (it had merely 2 uncommon weaknesses)
Making Water more interesting to adjust some offenses:
--weak to Poison (joining Fairy in making poison an actually viable offensive option, which it should be)
--resist Rock (to keep Water defensive and nerf Rock a bit)
Probably the most radical change. Nerfing Electrics odd superior defense:
--weak to Grass (justified by reverse resistance)
Give Ghosts a new underrated weakness:
--weak to Psychic (two-side weakness, how cool is that?)
and in turn Bug a new resistance:
--resist Ghost
Nerf Poison a bit:
--weak to Steel (hello reverse immunity?)
in turn nerf the Steel offense by making to types resist it:
--Ground resist Steel (justified by reverse weakness)
--Fighting reisist Steel (justified by reverse weakness)
Another one with immunity but no deserved advantage is Flying:
--Ground weak to Flying
Another radical weakness for Fighting:
--weak to Dragon (its vastly inferior to Ice moves, and Fighting is the only type I can see making sense for this. Doesn't matter how well you defend yourself against a raging fantasy beast)
in turn, Ice gaining another justified resistance is possible:
--resist Dragon
Fairy losing a resistance that was uncalled for:
--neutral from Bug (Bug is weak enough as it is, wtf gamefreak)
Fairy gaining a more appropriate resistance:
--resist Fire (fat magic pixies don't burn. I tried. true story.)
