I like the decoration, it fits the piece very well. It doesn't look added, more of a natural part of the purse.

Yes it's a normal veg tanned leather, dyed with regular dye and/or antique finish. If you're american you can find all at Springfield Leather Company [link] . Is the best choise. They have reasonable prices and are very friendly.
