Description

November 17, 2017
A number of individuals previously involved in the Cloverfield project were arrested yesterday for illegal use of restricted government equipment and property. They claim that they allowed themselves to be arrested, if the notes and findings - and even a couple audio recordings - they made of events in alternate dimensions would be played out. Apparently, they followed the trail of destruction of the adult "Clover" creature as it rampaged through several alternate timelines, sliding through different realities, but even that nigh-invincible horror was apparently destroyed by something particularly dangerous (and hopefully, dimensionally anchored) in another, very "distant" reality. In their audio recording, a vicious struggle can be heard, after which the creature falls silent. After the struggle, a gigantic bellowing roar can be heard - the sound is similar to a Gojiran roar, but far, far louder. A number of interdimensional coordinates were also publicly released, and a race is on to see where something as gigantic and deadly as the adult "Clover" might have met its end. However, I feel I may have an advantage in my personal resources.

I have recently extracted another file from the "Futurian" data-recording device, one of several retrieved in 1991 from the remains of Mecha-King Ghidorah. Amazingly, this recording details the events surrounding an alternate timeline wherein the influence of kaiju and aliens in modern human history was delayed by the actions of "Travellers" from elsewhen. It doesn't say whether the travelers were the same "Futurians" from the 1991 incident, but as their only mention occurs in 1991, it seems to be a safe bet. Regardless, in this timeline, a number of kaiju will begin to appear, starting in 1999. Humanity will be hard-pressed to defend against them after a relatively cushy 20th century, and they will also lack the benefits of reverse-engineered alien technology we enjoy in our own timeline. Godzilla's first arrival will come in 2030, and will mark a serious tipping point in humanity's struggle for survival. He will not be stopped or denied in this timeline, and his arrival will be brutal and horrific. Wiping out every other known titan and kaiju on the planet in a bloody reign of terror, Godzilla will reveal himself as an enemy of monsters and men alike, obliterating human cities and settlements and nearly wiping out humanity as a species. A concentrated attack of 150 nuclear weapons will fail to stop him, but will only leave a massive scar in the Earth. Even after two groups of alien refugees arrive on Earth in 2035, willing to share their advanced technology in exchange for sanctuary on Earth - the religious Exif and the rationalistic Bilusaludo - Humanity could not win. Even the Bilusaludo's ultimate weapon - a Mechagodzilla - will fail to activate in time, and Godzilla will obliterate the machine and its hangar. Humans, Exif, and Bilusaludo alike will be nearly exterminated by a single unstoppable monster. In 2048, the last vestiges of humanity will flee into deep space aboard two enormous evacuation shuttles called the Oratio and the Aratrum. 10,000 individuals went into hypersleep pods on the Oratio, headed for a more distant destination, and vanished forever. The Aratrum went for a closer destination, with 5,000 passengers and crew.

Unfortunately, the Aratrum's destination, the world intended to become the new home for the three species - Tau Ceti E - turned out to be uninhabitable in the long-term, due to massive hurricanes covering the surface. The Aratrum returned to Earth, but the experimental subspace hyperdrive warped time in such a fashion that approximately 19,200 years had passed. Earth was now an alien world, ruled by Godzilla. The last remnants of humanity were an underground stone-age society known as the Houtua, defended by the only kaiju that Godzilla had never truly beaten: Mothra. I'm extracting more information as quickly as I can, to see what life is like on "Planet Godzilla". It seems unbelievably hostile to modern humans - the air is described as "vaguely breathable", the plants have taken on aspects of Godzilla, making them extremely tough, and even pollen now works as radio chaff. One member of the Aratrum's crew, Captain Haruo Sakaki, apparently became obsessed with killing Godzilla after the titan wiped out his family during the evacuation of Earth.

There's very little information I've found regarding the god of the Hotua. They apparently worship a variant of Mothra, who still dwells in a massive egg. In humanity's darkest hour, during Godzilla's struggle against Ghidorah, Mothra revealed herself just long enough to destroy Metphies's plane and provide a critical distraction, turning the tide of the battle.
