I love this picture. It's so simple, so exquisitely drawn, and so Batman.

Thanks Josh.
I like your stuff as well. Kind of a marriage between Disney and Tim Burton.

Peace,
Brian

No problem, and thanks
Oh, and . . . you gotta show me how you did that.
I mean . . . you don't have to but I'd appreciate it if you could

Thanks Alfred, I try to do studies of images that show good lighting. I also recommend the Gnomon vid, "Practical Light and Color", it's a winner!

Good luck,
Brian

Fantstic work! My biggest critique would be that the bottle on the left is not fully transparent. It's a bit odd that you can see the base of the glass from the font of the object but you can't see through it.

Thanks for the feedback al, when I did that, a long time ago, I was so hyper focused on making the reflection work, I didn't consider to the other properties of the glass. In all these years I never noticed what you're pointing out. Now I can't see anything but.
Thanks for the eye opener.
Your gallery has a lot of charm in it!

Best,
Brian

cool work.
Maybe use the smear tool, if you use photoshop or something like that, and go around the edges of cut. That way it does not look like cut out with a scissor in some places.

But i like it, especially the shading. The mirroring in the glass is nice too.

Thanks Maxnethaal, this is actually a very old piece. Blurring that background may have been on of the first thing I ever did in Photoshop.
You're right, could use some finesse!

Peace,
Brian

Wow, was I drunk when I wrote that reply.
"one of the first things" was intended.

Oops, didn't see that it is old.
That effect was one of the first i used over and over in images years back. That selfmade focus in a drawing was a cool thing.

I looked through your gallery, there is so much great stuff in there.
So, i should not have said anything
