I was very drawn to this one
its got clean lines
and its very bold
but I love the fact that there is
a certain flow to it...
beautiful piece

I'm not usually a great fan of abstract paintings, but your work looks great to me maybe it's because of it's minimalism and good use of a few simple colours I also love the way your colours "live"... can't really explain what I mean... but your paintings still work fine for me and look very calming without losing their dynamicity

First impression when i saw it on thumbs was ... wow, really like it. i want it. Hehe couldnt wait to see it full view.

This time this one doesnt give a feeling of isolation or sadness or abandoned. I feel 'comfort' .. a sense that you were happy when you painted this. Its just a day in life, things will be ok, just be yourself.

Pleasing shapes, looks like a wonderfully abstract primary flower arrangement.

Wow, really nice. I like the angles, and I like how there are two blocks but, you don't know if you're looking at blocks or not. Makes you question what you're seeing

thanks! that's exactly what I intended

Roinja [2006-06-02 10:11:01 +0000 UTC]

Interesting...in a good way i get trapped feeling for the previous painting, and now somehow isolated...hmm...i guess i have weird mind
well that is the first impression... but it kind of lives, and every new look gives an new thought. well so does all art do... but this one does it strongly...
it would be so great if we could see these in "live", because then the impression would probably be much different.

btw: I dont see those as liveless objects (like walls)... but again: me, my mind and our own operating system

AdriAdrian In reply to Roinja [2006-06-04 10:28:42 +0000 UTC]

trapped, isolated... i am curious about your feelings when i submit my next painting
unfortunately i can't see it "live" myself too often anymore. it was a present and now out of my reach it's always hard to give my paintings away...

all-gian-like [2006-06-02 09:26:55 +0000 UTC]

uhm, if u don't mind, can u explain to me it's meaning? i'm kinda curious to know. sorry, i suck at understanding abstract art. i'm shallow.

AdriAdrian In reply to all-gian-like [2006-06-04 10:35:19 +0000 UTC]

...well... there is no fixed meaning... as mentioned earlier, i kinda play with the perception. are there three-dimensional objects, or just shapes? when is something objective becoming abstract...? like a tightrope walk. and you are free to decide, what you see. in a way like in the song: "free your mind"

oh i see! thanks! very well said!
now that you've mentioned that we are free to decide what we see, i can seem to see here a window or a door like object. it's kinda interesting to note that the painting looked 3d even though you only used flat colors. maybe because of the wise utilization of perspective. anyways, nice work! keep it up! ^_________^

Great work. Looks to me like 2 walls u would c in an art gallery. The walls actually being the art work. Once again, well done!

MySweetDarkness [2006-06-01 23:44:24 +0000 UTC]

Hmm ... What did you think about when you painted this one ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AdriAdrian In reply to MySweetDarkness [2006-06-04 11:15:48 +0000 UTC]

...what i thought... i must admit, i create my best paintings when i don't think (too much)... too much thinking is inhibiting... and that's exactly why my current paintings are shitty...
maybe the answer i gave VV is a bit helpful.... [link]
