Description "Change my dears and not a moment too soon - she IS the Doctor whether you like it or not!"
-Colin Baker

I saw no one used the "deal with it" meme with the 13th Doctor. So I made it myself.

As I've already said: I can understand that you don't like this choice. But seriously, before saying: "The Doctor is a man. Doctor Who is dead!!!!" Look first and judge after, This is what adults and true fans does!

It's clear to me that the people whining about Jodie never watched the show.

Well "Deal with it" meme is a poorly logical one, you could easily slap on "BBC male leads get paid more then women. Deal with it" In short saying deal with it is trying to win a debate and shut up a conversation in one go, it's childish and even arrogant.

I have no problem with the gender change but I think the process of changing gender to an existing character is lazy creativity in itself. If they were serious about it they should had added more diversity and changes to the doctor's role over the years as opposed to playing a sci-fi variant of james bond.

I think they missed a bigger opportunity with donna noble, but the cynic in me is going to say this is more out of low ratings then making a statement and telling everyone to "deal with it".

Not yet. At Christmas I'll call her Doctor, after Peter leaves. Right now I call Peter Capaldi the current Doctor.

Even though I agree with this meme a lot (and the description quote), I also agree with you - I'm looking forward to Jodie, but we need to stay respectful to Capaldi, he's been such an incredible Doctor and it will be hard to see him go, the least we can do is to call him Doctor one last time (although he will always be our 12th Doctor)

Agreed. I am looking forward to Jodie and seeing her play the role, but Peter is still here and I don't want people to start suddenly forgetting what a fantastic job the man has done playing the Doctor, he was fantastic, and he will be missed.

I think people won't forget him, he will go out with a bang and tears, and he did provide us with some of the best speeches, scenes and dynamics in all of Doctor Who, it's just that this meme also reflects one of the biggest problems in our great fandom/fan community, and an urgent one imo. I've seen tons of people making unjustifiable biased reasons to disagree with a female Doctor, as well as other stuff, like the number counting on the Doctor, the Clara banters, the Nardole banters, the alien older Doctor Capaldi delivered, the Missy theories that she's not the Master just because she kissed the Doctor, the Moffat/RTD banters (saying that RTD/Moffat was better and that the show was bad under their runs), the ratings banters... some people, a lot of times, are nitpicking in their opinions and without looking at the full picture like they should. Some are just not happy with entertainment anymore, they just take everything for granted, and when a show becomes too much in their mind, they start nitpicking on unnecessary aspects and passing their negative thoughts without a second thought until the show gets cancelled, I've seen it everywhere and in almost every tv show. The only shows that don't have that sort of thing are show's that were cancelled/finished too soon, like Lie to Me, Firefly, Gravity Falls,... and most times, those people don't embrace change on this show nor respect the effort the writers and the Doctor Who team goes through to put a lot of those unique masterpieces and concepts on tv, even if every aspect aligns perfectly, when in the past, everyone had more consensus because the show was new and fresh and the internet wasn't that big of a thing. It's truly sad when people don't respect the show's nature for what it is.

The truth is, the show was there for them when they needed something more in their lives, when they needed escapism, when they needed fantasy, when they needed love, adventure, excitement, stories, wonder... and when the show changed as much as the Doctor itself, those "fans" are not there for the show, they just want "their" show, they just want "their" nostalgia and they forget what Doctor Who is truly about - change and acceptance. The show will always move on, even without us, we're just along for the ride, just like the Doctor's companions.
