Really awesome work! So as you mentioned this was a Knight of Caliban before the arrival of The Emperor. Some of the Knights that could not be turned into Space Marines like Luther were still biologically or cybernetically enhanced to serve in the Dark Angels. Perhaps one of these old Caliban officers was once a female Knight.

Awesome!
And I always wonder... Disclaimer: I am personally completely uninterested in the whole female marines debate. But I can totally see some females being recruited during the Great Crusade era. We can safely assume that from a fluff pov it's likely success rate may be higher for males than females, but it does not mean there is complete incompatibility with females. It may not be worth it to recruit females for space marine chapters in the M41, as they are always struggling to replenish losses, but during the Great Crusade especially strong females would've been worth a shot, so I don't see why there could not have been some here and there.
Of course, I guess you really did a female because the commission was for a female portrait, but these are just my musings.

You know, I actually hadn't realised the armour worn by the knights of Caliban was actually power armour. I checked, and you're right. I still don't think it would have the two round vents at the back, since they're usually explained as being be jets for void propulsion, and the Calibanites were not void capable (or were they? and then, maybe they would still only have maintained or created old suits without understanding their full function or origin?)
Another question: there is clearly Chaos-analogous iconography on her armour. Are you using this to hint to the fact that Caliban was partially warp-tainted and that possibly some knightly orders were made of Chaos worshippers (e.g. possibly Knights of Lupus)?

No, she is a knight from Caliban before the Emperor arrives. And the symbol on the chest is the emblem of Lutherβs "squad".

She looks awfully clean for a Chaos Sister of Battle.

Cool. When you said "Chaos Sisters of Battle", I pictured her face to be heavily corrupted, marred beyond recognition. This, I don't mind though. I like it.
