"Why would you speak? Words can mislead, and are empty. You can only show true devotion through your whole body, your being. Speak, and the gods will come. Dance, and you can meet them halfway."hey, i like my little story/info things. this is one of my erda, small mountain-dwellers. they are quiet, spiritual and scholarly. they are deeply devoted to their families and their gods. dance is a sacred form of communication for them.
behind her is part of a very simple, modest mural of the two gods, nestherae the mother and abidos the father. the father is the one with the beard. oh, a note. the erda are uniformly brownish, but the very incredibly rare individual will be born gold and red. (rare as in one a generation, if that) since thats the coloring of the gods, these individuals are called the speakers of the gods and are the most exalted individuals in the entire society.
also, after i started plotting that out, i realized i had a nice big spot at the bottom. i was told it needed to be filled with writing. so i spent an hour figuring out their writing system. the writing simply has the gods names. if anyone is interested, heres the full 'alphabet': Sayoli . ugly handwriting is ugly

Very unique story/characters you have here. It sounds like a book I could easily lose myself in.
*glances at language link* My brother was showing off his eduacation by writing me a letter in Hebrew amd telling me I had to translate it the other day... I am sunddenly having flashbacks of my brain melting... <_<`

heh, i hope theres a book in there, but at the moment it kinda defies my writing attempts. ahahaha, ouch, sounds painful. you have some working knowledge of hebrew? or did he just throw that at you out of nowhere?

The only Hebrew two words I know/recognise by sight and sound is God and Omega. *draws squiggly symbols in the air with a talon that you can't see* But yeah, he just threw it at me to diplsay his male superiority and fine eduaction. Hmmph. Must be nice for him to have had the church and Dad pay for that fine education. Brothers are good at that.

An Erda? Hurrah! Today has been one very dandy day for me art-wise... first Vex from =Konsumbrot and now an Erda from you. Yay!
Well... well well, I must say that the Erda are a lovely bunch of critters. I think what attracts me to them is those long ears of theirs, as well as the placement of fur (I love the blaze down the back!) and the general shape and build. They just look like a calm race...like those friendly mountain-dwelling hermits you'd just like to go live with, you know? Heck, I'D love to live among Erda. 
I've got a couple of questions, if you don't mind me picking your brains. First off, how tall are the Erda? And also, is there any sexual dimorphism between the two genders of this race? For example, are males larger or something? :3

i love my erda. theyre so fluffy and adorable. since they are in the mountains, their fur is incredibly heavy and dense. alpaca or yak wool is pretty close. they are very quiet and very shy, absolutely pacifistic. heh, living with them would be fascinating, but it might get boring after awhile. and theyre very wary of strangers. oh right the charm! i forgot to mention that. thats their version of a cross or yinyang, basically. its an image of an erda on hind legs, arms up.
how tall...around 5 feet. theyre pretty small and delicate under all that hair. theres really not much sexual dimorphism (other than the obvious

I like this one a lot; the character design and the pose she's in looks VERY nice. I couldn't see a thing to change. I like your recent motif of the cental background piece with the character in front; it adds interest but keeps the character as the focal point. And yay writing system! I started making one up for Dorian's people but.. eh, I'm not there just yet. ^^'
You and =Konsumbrot 's exploring of characters and worlds has finally got me back writing AoS4... I owe you guys thanks

thanks! hehe, id noticed i had a lot of portraits of aliens with partial backgrounds, so i just kept up with that. theyre also much easier to come up with than the full deal

Anywho, I have the need to point out (as ever) that her hands seem to be waaaayyy too small compared to the rest of her body. Maybe she just has small hands? Other than that, very good on the motion of her dancing. It's like you took a picture of her mid-dance. Very nice.
