Well, this is a fractal, so it's made by changing math formulas. Less physical work required.

I really like this one. The flower fractal looks like it has diamonds. The red makes it look more royal.

Thanks. One of my first fractals, but all this time later, I still like it the most.

Thanks, Thelma. Don't think I'll ever agree with people that say FE is a poor program. I still love tinkering around in it.

Thank you. This one has a special place in my heart because I wasn't much into fractal yet, so I'm glad you like it.

They're like snowflakes branching off a mother snowflake...

Very impressive. THe colour choice is astounding.

Thank you. I made this shortly after I started working with fractals, so in a lot of ways it was a break-through image for me. Of my entire gallery, this has a special place in my heart, so I'm glad you like it.

Your featured fractal?

I've yet to develop one for myself that I'm on really good terms with.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to QuinnDx [2005-02-08 19:36:56 +0000 UTC]

I really appreciate the feature.

A veteran fractal artist once adviced me to stick to one program until you've mastered it. I try to hold to that as much as possible, which is why I have a lot of programs that I don't know how to use yet. Someone asked me in * Ultra-Fractal how to get good fractals and I had a hard time answering. Best advice I can give is get comfortable with the interface and have fun. The day fractals become a chore is the day I walk away from them.

Absolutely gorgeous! There is a terrific sense of depth behind the flowers. The colors are stunning and I absolutely love the sparklies. That is the proper, technical name, isn't it? Sparklies?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to SiennaBlue [2005-02-08 04:44:54 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much. Not sure what the technical name is, but when I first saw them I was reminded of some prairie flowers I saw once, which gave me the name for the image. Glad you like it, it's one of my oldest files and it's very dear to me.

I reworked this to get a better print out of it. Think it looks better in this size ratio. Thanks for taking a look.

"Out from the depths" what comes to my mind!!!! Gorgeous!!! My interpretation of it is more of a alien-nature!!!!! Possibly of a horror alien-nature!!! Something that you would go, "Oh, that looks so beautiful ... let me touch one!!" And then one little prick from a hidden proboscis and then the fever sets in, followed by vomitting, then a horrible death Wow!!! I didn't mean to sound so morbid, but that is a very beautiful piece!!!! Great job, man!!!!

einzigARTig [2004-05-16 11:58:04 +0000 UTC]

I find the colors to be pretty fitting ... they build up a nice contrast but keep some level of harmony together.
Just a thought on fractals:
WE need to find a way to implement more depth in our fractals. Fractals are multidimensional ... so we could have at least 3 dimensions to show that
See you soon

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to einzigARTig [2004-05-16 16:51:13 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Depth is always something that I try to build, but it's not that easy to capture. Much easier when using non fractal programs, but Apophysis does a fairly good job at it if you try hard enough.

Extremely nice work. Excellant colors. I really like the almost metallic look of the red sections, and the silver peices invoke memories of some of the hubble telescopes better captures.
