What ever the critiques said sure seemed to do the trick.
I could not tell in the thumb if it was a photo or terragen.
It really was hard to tell.

Thank you. Terragen is still a mystery to me, there's so many adjustments and not all of them make sense right now. Need a lot more time in the program.

Man do I agree with you on that note!
The haze settings alone seem to have some 65 settings, plus color choice...eeeccckkkk

Very beautiful render! And I really like clouds below the mountain tops. I've been unable to do that yet, but will keep trying!

Wow really cool piece, is it 3D? I did a painting like this a while back although i put a skydiver in it for some reason

Aeires In reply to David-Holland [2007-06-19 02:24:03 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it was rendered in Terragen 2. I often wonder if a hot air balloon wouldn't look too bad in this one.

Maybe a couple of hot air balloons or an airship maybe?

Totally in love with the new version, just way behind the learning curve with all the new gadgets.

Learning while doing a project is almost as rewarding as the final outcome of the piece, just because you know you can apply that skill set now should you choose to.

The clouds were done flawlessly! Both in the foreground and background. But man... those mountains are something else. The snow on them looks perfect. Done like a pro!

This is like being in doubt, does perspective exist or not? The overwhelming white cloud blocks our vision to the distant mountains but, at the same time, it guides us to the mountain on the right. It proposes a different perspective. A mystery in plain daylight.

MBoulad [2007-03-30 07:45:17 +0000 UTC]

Beautiful work...and yes, I thought it was a photo I like the clouds in the upper atmosphere and on the right very much. The cloud on the left ...maybe a little less opaque would be good as others have said. But considering the name of the piece (warning...waxing philosophical) our perspective often leaves things obscured with only hints and glimpses of what is actually in front of us. So maybe more appropriate to leave it as is.

Or perhaps that philosophical stuff was totally off base and you could make the clouds thinner
