For some unkonown reason, this reminds me of the X-Men and Wolverine's adamantium claws.

I love the textures you have in this image. Well done!

Thanks. After looking at a lot of great UF images lately I've put a lot more emphasis onto textures. Even found a new way yesterday that I've been itching to try out.

Wow... Very nice... the contrast between the colors is great... And the texture is just... ... Plus, I love those silver details...

Thanks, I've been trying to work with textures a lot more in my newer works. Drives me crazy at times but I think the effort pays off.

It really does.. I guess it adds a lot more depth to the artwork... I have to try it myself any of those days...

It's like the whole image is covered in spiderwebs which is a very cool effect, in my opinion. Quite a firey image. Good job! ^-^

Thanks. Fire works better for me than ice and water. I've been trying to make a blue image but just can't nail it lately.

SarahTsukimi In reply to Aeires [2005-07-21 13:29:23 +0000 UTC]

That's too bad. But it's much harder to create a 'blue image' concerning fractal art. If you're making a drawing, you just draw water for example, you cannot just create water as a fractal. At least, I believe so. Anyway, good luck with it! ^-^

Well, I can create a lake effect in Ultra Fractal. Haven't ever done it because I've seen way too many of them in various places but maybe one day I'll get an image that needs it.

SarahTsukimi In reply to Aeires [2005-07-30 12:12:07 +0000 UTC]

A lake effect sounds pretty cool. I don't think I've ever seen it, at least, not that I know of.

Thanks. Wanted to do something more along the lines of Building A Vision but maybe after the vision has been burned down.

i think it has it's own characteristics and it makes it unique.

Aeires In reply to trinity-77 [2005-07-20 06:23:24 +0000 UTC]

I'd do work like that all the time if people didn't get tired of it and it wasn't so darn difficult to find formulas that will give you grid patterns that look interesting.

trinity-77 In reply to Aeires [2005-07-20 06:24:39 +0000 UTC]

i completely agree. that's what i struggle on.. i love grids and i have a hard time getting them in UF.

Aeires In reply to trinity-77 [2005-07-20 06:25:43 +0000 UTC]

They are all over the place but you have to zoom in some insane amounts to find them. I wonder what I miss because I'm looking at those gnats while missing the camels.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

trinity-77 In reply to Aeires [2005-07-20 06:26:40 +0000 UTC]

then leave it to us who dont zoom in to see the gnat and we'll leave you seeing the camels we have. haha

Thanks, it's actually the default gradient with the blue changed to black. Works awesome.

FractalMBrown In reply to Aeires [2005-07-20 13:04:25 +0000 UTC]

I've used that on Doodads II myself. Blue to black creates an awesome gradient, and allows you to adjust the hue, etc.

Thanks, Eddie. When I did Building A Vision I had some comments that they wanted to see more like that so I dug and dug until I found a good looking grid to work with.

Thank you. Textures is one of the biggest keys to a great UF fractal and I've been trying to go in that direction a lot more. Sometimes I fall really short but I'm happy with this one and glad you like it.

neat image, kind of like looking at a warehouse top or something at a weird perspective...

what image provided the ashes for it to rise from?

Aeires In reply to draqza [2005-07-20 06:37:21 +0000 UTC]

Haha, cool description.

Mostly just being an a creative slump. Gave up on UF, opened apo with absolutely no luck, went to Fractal Exporer and found something decent, but all of it not really what I was wanting to accomplish. Finally went back to UF and the magic started to happen again.

Now all you need is a sequel entitled, "Stoked."

A few people mentioned that but I never saw it until it was pointed out. Probably a good thing because it would have drove me crazy trying to perfect it.

I like the subtle gray textures best. I find it a little too jarring a contrast between your very smooth portion and these gorgeous gray elements. That's just me. Your colors are impeccable, though--great reds, grays, yellows, and so on.

Aeires In reply to DeepChrome [2005-07-20 20:18:33 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Fire colors seem to work better for me so I went that route with this one. Still trying to make a water colored one but maybe next time.
