Description Not overly fancy. Just me playing around in apophysis again. Believe it or not, but I actually zoomed in on this one.

If you take your mouse wheel (or drag the cursor on the slider bar) and move this fractal up and down it looks like its moving +_+

Thanks, Tom. I knew I wanted an off center position for this one. The two long flares coming out the bottom led me to a vertical piece on this one. The large flares are polar, so it was a bit tricky, but I finally got them to behave.

This is beautiful I like the depth and the feeling of energy in the centre. I know what you mean about apophysis, sometimes I think I fiddle too much and kinda forget how I started. One of the reasons I go back to apo 1 from time to time.

Aeires In reply to Darkangel764 [2004-11-08 05:45:22 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. Yeah, it's good to keep it simple sometimes. Whenever someone asks me for help, I always tell them less is more in apo.

Wow, there is so much more detail here than the thumbnail shows. I was quite surprised when I saw the full view. Great spiralling shapes, like a bright spark of light.

Thank you. I worked this one for a while, but stopped at this point because the way the rays shot outward. Seemed to give it more energy.

Wow, this is freaking awesome!

Sorry I didn't comment earlier, I've just now gotten back on dialup *grrs at SBC*. It only took 2 minutes to load!

But seriously, this is a GREAT piece. I'll use it for my WP.

Hey thanks. Don't worry, I'm a week behind on deviations myself, and that's after cleaning out over a hundred yesterday.

Love the outstretched lines coming from the center....
A very powerful piece!

Aeires In reply to littledeviltoo [2004-11-06 17:15:10 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. I've had images with lines that stretched out, but I've never done one were they were so long from the center before. I'd really like to print this one, but the zoom in was murder for such a simple image. Maybe one of these days when I'm going on vacation I'll let the system run for three days.

Aeires In reply to Aquiel [2004-11-04 23:33:06 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I was playing around with one of the most difficult variations in the software when I made this one. It's not overly complicated, but I'm thinking about doing a minimalist wallpaper out of this. Don't know why I didn't think of that when I was making it. Must have gotten caught up in the long vertical strands that come down from the heart of it.

Im kind of new to this type of art. I dont have any reference for it. All I know is that I find it aesthetically pleasing and to me it has a kind of cosmic ambiance. I had a massive cognition the other week, I was playing in photo shop with a photo and I realised how much "math" was in the photo. Then I realised that EVERYTHING comes down to maths This art that you do has some kind of formula to it, even if its just in the software... Sorry, Im in a ranty mood

Have you ever seen the art work of Alex Grey? I think his website is [link] Its well worth a look.

Aeires In reply to Aquiel [2004-11-05 00:13:01 +0000 UTC]

Fractals are all about math. They are comprised of complicated math formulas that combine to create the image. Thank God programmerss have done all the math work because I really don't like math much. I tell people the only math I like is fractals.

Eynowd [2004-11-04 22:34:50 +0000 UTC]

The way the colour almost explodes out of that core section is fantastic.

And, it might just be my monitor, but if you look at the full view and then move the mouse wheel up and down quickly, the rays of the sunburst appear to be flapping

Great work, as usual

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to Eynowd [2004-11-04 23:35:19 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. This was one of those rare ones that didn't need a lot of color modifications. I was really happy the way the rays change color as they shift away from the heart.

I don't know why, but it seems like a lot of mine have that flapping wings movement when scrolled. Must be some kind of stealth style developing.

chilledsashel [2004-11-04 21:54:56 +0000 UTC]

damn man this one is really cool. It looks like a golden dandelion. For some reason on your fractals when alternate between scrolling up and down really fast it appears to have movement =/. I don't understand why but it looks really cool nonetheless. The colors are subtle but not too harsh, very good job.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to chilledsashel [2004-11-04 23:37:03 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I seem to stumble on the ones that have movement when scrolled. It's not deliberate, but I'll take them none the less.
