Description This is a P-51D Mustang that I recently finished building. Its the Tamiya 1.48 scale kit. The model took me about a month to build. Right now I'm working on a 1971 Charger and then next will be a Grumman F4F Wildcat Tamiya kit as well.

Well done, man. I built a Tamiya P-51D and made it a British Mustang IV. I would like to get another one and put it in the markings of 188 Black Lightning Squadron (the same one featured in Empire of the Sun).

So, when are we going to see a Spitfire?

Thanks, but compared to my latest builds this one isn't as good I would like to also build a RAF or RCAF Mustang to go along with this one. I'm working on a Tamiya Gloster Meteor right now, but a Spit would be nice to build at a later date. I have a Lockheed Ventura, Halifax, Hawk and Tomcat to build also.

Tamiya's 1/48 Mustang III kit is great. So is their 1/48 Spitfire Mk Ia. Their 1/32 Spitfire Mk IX is superb as well.

Thanks, there are a few flaws here and there, but hey it was I think the 5th model I have built and took my time.

You do know that even the real ones are not perfect

Stop over and take a look at my tanks and I do have a few planes to.

That is true.

Those takes look amazing, they look very realistic. I'm guessing you must have used an airbrush on them? I said I was going to be building a Wildcat next, but I'm actually working on a Texan. I'm finding out how crappy yellow covers haha.

The best thing you can do for working with yellow is to use a flat white primmer coat. I've also see guys use flat white and use yellow ink and not paint. I tried it one time, but I couldn't get the hand of it.

Yes I use and airbrush on some of them, it does help when your doing the German tanks. However I think the dry brushing brings out the best in the details.

I will remember that for next time I paint a model yellow. I finished the Texan and I'm not real happy with it. I'm planing on building a CH-149 Cormorant in the near future and they are all yellow. I picked up some Humbrol glossy yellow, so I'm hoping it will cover better!

Right now I'm working on a 1.72 scale Golden Hawks Canadair Sabre Mk6, so far its turning out great.

Dry brushing does give a nice effect. I'm mostly just looking to use an airbrush for camo and where colors meet and blend together.
