Description
The dark entity recognized as Ithardil had always been feared as an unstoppable enigma, reeking of evil intent and capable of ensnaring helpless souls within its collective mind. It was a being that had always been there, and seemingly immortal, and frightfully vast, having absorbed so many into itself.

Only a handful of people have ever seen the core of Ithardil, its actual appearance, and managed to successfully escape its influence completely.

The demonic entity was eventually shattered into fragments, forcefully split apart by the assault of the newly-created Kahederan warriors, and then sealed within a deep void by first generation of Atalanian Reclaimers, with the heavy price of their own sacrificed souls to maintain the final seals.

When the Kahederans turned on their creators, the first of their treacheries was to shatter the seals, revive the fragments, and rebuild the entity. They were mostly unsuccessful, and only one of the Ithardil fragments were unsealed.

Even so, the nightmares which came with it were horrid.

The unfortunate ones fell under its dark, heavy influence, and prolonged exposure to such evil intent twisted their bodies beyond recognition and corrupted the souls.

They became the Messengers, the first of the Phases of Ithardil, words of thick blackness continuously pouring forth from their ever open mouths, prophesying the despair and destruction that would follow their footsteps in the time to come.
