what's that paint like? is it waterbased? do you need black light for it to shine this bright?

i think it would be mostly sound... underwater sounds, very dynamic.

yes, the color palette is rather limited with black lights paints. they're normal acrylics or acrylic gouash, not very difficult to use.
they're not as interesting in regular light, but because they're quite bright colors it still looks good as long as the base layer is not reflective. i paint on raw canvas.
the main drawback is that the color range is extremely limited and a bit pastel... so, i've actually been planning to paint with my long-neglected acrylics starting this week.

I find it complex and multi layered, with a great deal going on simultaneously. I always find your paintings to be convoluted and rich in their juxtapositional relationships. And yet they are very cohesive in your story telling.
Lower left I see a tree transitioning between the flame of life and the false death that is winter. The tree is being watched over by its wood sprite. A wind spirit is hastening the treeβs transformation.
The wind is also interacting with the river spirit. In this dance, water is lifted to the sky.
At the same time, the wind is also interacting with the sky. In this process weather is made and the wind has a storm riding in her hair.
The birds are riding the wind/sky south.
The chromacolored zebra are running before the wind looking for greener pastures
And the cycle of life continues
